That said, I think his attitude actually falls in line with what both Miyuki and the Coach said about an Ace needing to want to monopolize the mound. I can also see him being prideful enough to not want Miyuki to see an unpolished pitch. I love Miyuki dearly, but he's a cocky little $hit. I wouldn't want to struggle with anything in front of him. lol

Its a flashback when they were younger so you can really watch it whenever you want to. No need to react to them most of the OVAs are flashbacks instead of the last 2 (theres 5 of them)

He has to get over his feelings because this is for the team and they need to work together. Its almost as if hes not working with Miyuki with the hope that Coach will start Miyauchi when that wont happen.

Their working together actually makes sense when you consider that they are both in their last year and both are a bit desperate. Tanba feels the pressure of these two up-and-coming pitchers trying to take his spot. Miyauchi lost the starting position to Miyuki, who is a year behind him. Their energy is the same, so it makes sense that they would be working together, trying to pull out something new in the 11th hour.
