Chapter 15: Ork-san’s Meddling

The next day, and the day after that, Tita who was always together with me in the elf village avoided me and didn’t show herself in front of me.

It was after such thing happened. It couldn’t be helped.

Today too I was treating her mother.

「It’s faster than I expected, but you have fully recovered. If you go through rehab and regain your stamina that has declined from the sickness, you will have a healthy body again.」

This would also become my last examination.

I didn’t give her any more medicine. I handed her some nutrients, listed up several precautions, and then it was over.

……I didn’t have any more reason to stay in this village.

Tita’s story had spread among the elves.

Perhaps, it was already impossible for me to find a wife in this village.

「Say, Ork-san. Is Tita still avoiding you?」

Tita’s mother lowered her head.

She was pretty.

Her personality and bearing were the opposite of Tita, but these two were certainly mother and daughter.

I searched for Tita. I called out to the wind spirits.

She wouldn’t be able to run away from me in  a place that was filled with air. Using wind magic, my maximum sensing range had the radius of several hundred meters.

Almost the whole village was within my range.

It seemed she wasn’t in the village. Then I guessed she was at the forest around here.

I went outside the village and began to run while searching within my range.

I finally found Tita thirty minutes later.

She was hugging her knees while staring at the river.

I approached her from behind.

「I finally found you.」

「What are you here for? You don’t like me or anything right?」

「I like you, I also want to push you down, I want to love you. But, I just can’t throw away my dream. I came here to apologize to Tita, and because there are two things that I have to tell you.」

「I’ll at least listen to your story.」

「Aa, first. It’s earlier than expected, but your mother’s treatment is finished. After that if she keep eating nutritious food while moving her body bit by bit to recover her stamina, she will become able to move like before again.」

「I see, that’s great. I can’t thank you enough for that Ork.」

It was Tita’s good point that she could say her thanks honestly even at this kind of situation.

「……The treatment is over. There is no woman who want to come with me. That’s why I have no more reason to stay in this village. I plan to go back after saying my farewell to the village chief.」

「That’s earlier than planned. Why are you in such a hurry?」

「I’m desperate to make my dream come true. Perhaps it’s just something incomprehensible from where you are standing Tita, but I had made a lot of bloody efforts for many years in order to make this dream come true. Thanks to that, I managed to learn the knowledge and skill that could save your mother, I also obtained the power to save you.」

I had accumulated a lot of thing for the sake of my harem.

「Is that the second thing that you want to say to me?」

I knew that I was asking for something selfish.

Tita smiled sadly and opened her mouth.

「You see, I have also thought about it. Can I still love you Ork even if you fall in love with other girl? And, my answer for that is」

Tita’s words were cut off midway.

A scream resounded. It was the scream of the forest.

The barrier that was protecting the elf village vanished.

「Ork-dono, we don’t have time to talk with you right now. You are a guest. Please relax in your room for the time being.」

What the elves were saying was reasonable.

But, I had important information for them.

「……I just returned from gathering information. I want you to look at this. It’s the location of the enemies three minutes ago.」

I spread a map.

I drew on the map with magic.

It was a magic to convert the information in the brain and projected it outside. The result was more precise and faster than any painter could paint no matter how skilled they were.

Tita couldn’t read the map, but it seemed the village authorities including the chief could read the map just fine.

I had drawn the position and the direction of movement of the humans that I discovered in my scouting just now.

「Around sixty armed humans are heading toward the village. With their speed, it will take them around one hour and a half to arrive here.」

The chief stared at my face head on.

「You said that this is their position three minutes ago. Then how were you able to gather this information when the humans will need one hour and a half to travel the distance?」

「It’s simple. I flew with magic for a round of where the boundary of the barrier existed before while using search magic.」

「……That’s unbelievable. Flight magic require delicate control as well as high power output. Using such magic while also using searching magic that has high degree of difficulty, and also accurately memorizing the information you obtained. ……I am indebted to you Ork. But, allow me to ask you what everyone is thinking right now as the village chief. You aren’t the one leading those humans here aren’t you?」

「No.」

「Can you prove that?」

Proof huh. It was really difficult to prove that you didn’t do anything. But…….

「I can. I don’t have any need at all to call the humans here……I won’t even need a minute to render all 200 elves in this village powerless.」

I released the ki and mana that I usually kept hidden to the limit. I also gathered the spirits at the surrounding with all my strength.

Several people lost strength in their waist and fell speechless from witnessing that overwhelming power.

To finish it off, I wiped away the paint that I plastered on the back of my right hand to hide what was there.

The crest of spirit that would only be given to the hero shined blue.

「You understand now, right? How strong I am.」

「An orc as the hero? Impossible」

「Is that a fake crest? No, this power of the honorable spirit, and mana」

I didn’t really like doing this but it was an emergency.

The village chief nodded.

The chief nodded at my question.

So the large tree at the center of the village was a world tree.

The problem was the guy who broke the forest barrier.

It was a coarse plan, but there was no other way.

……I hoped that the enemy wasn’t someone at the level of my teachers.
