Chapter 2: Orc-san’s Clean Up

Together with Tita, I went again to the place where the demon’s bug corpse was lying.

The elves tried to do something about the mucus somehow by using things like earthenware and the like to scoop it out. But even the earthenware got melted and the clean up didn’t progress at all.

The ground was melting and the hole was gradually deepening further, so they also tried to bury the hole by throwing in soils or rocks into it. But even those soils and rocks were melted. It was a really troubling situation.

Mood of resignation was already hanging in the air.

It would be faster to just abandon this area and cultivated a new farm somewhere else.

However only this area had open plot of land. Doing something like cutting down trees to make a farm was impossible for the elves who lived in harmony with the forest.

「Uwaa, it looks like restoring this will be far harder than expected.」

Tita was making a grave face.

「That’s why I’m here.」

It also wouldn’t be really good if I helped out with the restoration work.

That was why, I prepared an excuse that this was just me doing maintenance at the surrounding area, otherwise the holes would get in the way of me carrying away the corpse of the demon bug that had been given to me.

I held up my right hand to the front.

There would be no end to this if I only used my own strength.

By pouring power into my right hand, the proof of hero that the Spirit King bestowed to me, the spirit crest rose to the surface.

There were two kinds of magic power.

And then there was six elements of man.

The magic activated. The ground shook.

Earth and rocks burst up like a pillar at some distance away. They filled the hole that the mucus gouged instantly.

In exchange a hole so deep that the bottom couldn’t be seen was created at the spot from where those earth and rocks came from. The floating ball of mucus that was enveloped in a veil of pure water was thrown into there. Such thing was repeated with the other mucus in this area too.

「With this the removal of the mucus around here is finished.」

「You are absurd like usual Ork.」

「I’m a hero after all, so obviously I’m out of the norm.」

The mucus removal that the elves had given up on was finished instantly. Everyone was dumbfounded.

However, they returned to their senses after a while. They came running and began to thank me.

This didn’t feel bad.

After the commotion settled down, I faced the demon bug again.

「Now then, we have finished with cleaning up the area, so let’s deal with this guy next.」

「Will something like this really become money?」

「Yeah, this guy’s skin and flesh are amazing. After all even the elf’s arrow that was strengthened with wind magic couldn’t pierce it. It’s elastic, flexible, and tough. The skin had unreasonable defensive capability. Furthermore it was light.

Unlike steel armor, this skin could be equipped like clothes.

I also planned to remake my equipment with this demon bug material.

My body was harder than steel. It was pointless for me to equip the average armor.

But, I would be able to have meaningful equipment with this.

「That’s certainly true. Even though the elf’s archer squad rained down arrows on it, not a single arrow could pierce it. The clothes made from this will be invincible.」

「Try cutting this coprse with this sword. Do it with all your strength.」

「Even someone ignorant of sword like me can feel it. This is an amazing sword. I might be getting a bit excited to swing this. Yep, I’ll give it a try.」

What I handed to Tita was the finest quality sword that was hanging on my waist.

Its material was the super rare metal mithril. It was something that I forged with my own hand. The number of sword at this level didn’t reach a hundred in this world.

Tita coated the sword with mana when she swung the sword.

The elves also did the same when they fired their arrow. They had the skill to fill their weapon with mana.

The weapon’s cutting power increased sharply by doing that.

Her posture also wasn’t’ bad.

The attack she unleashed could split a thick frying pan into two.

I confirmed that enough power had been gathered and ran while stabbing the blade into the demon bug’s corpse. I kept running for one lap without stopping.

An incision was made.

「What I seek is wind」

And then I called for wind this time with the power of the spirit crest.

Wind with the strength of typhoon poured between the skin and flesh through the incision, and the skin was peeled off all at once.

Then I called for water and cleaned the materials. After that I controlled wind to skillfully fold the skin.

The demon bug’s skin landed loudly on the ground.

The hole with unseen bottom that I dug out before this sucked in the melting mucus.

I dug a new hole that was quite deep.

It had the size like a small lake. I put the liquid of the bug that contained medicinal component into it and it became a healing lake.

「Now, after the fire resistant skin is peeled off, and all the liquid inside the body has been brougth out, the flesh has become dried up completely……we can completely burn it to ash.」

It’s finished.

I had taken everything that I needed.

The remaining demon bug’s corpse was just nuisance now.

「What I seek is flame.」

I gathered flame mana.

Until just now I was simply manipulating mana as though they were a part of my body, but to burn something of this size, I needed to use proper magic.

I used mana to construct magic.

The demon bug that gave me that much trouble was annihilated with not even its ash remained.

「Yosh, what’s left is to close the lid on the garbage can.」

I closed the hole where I threw the mucus and other fluids into. I couldn’t take earth from the surrounding to fully close a hole this deep. With an application of alchemy, I prepared something like a partition board that would close it until a certain depth before filling the remaining depth above it with earth.

There was a depth of twenty meter until the partition board was reached, so things would be fine as long as the elves didn’t dig until that deep.

「Yosh, the demon bug is cleaned up with this. What’s left is to prepare several clothes made from the demon bug’s skin as present for the elves and creating the medicine. 「You know, it might be too late to say this but, you have cleaned up everything here Ork, so we will make it in time even if we start tilling the farm again from now.」

The strongest armor and the greatest medicine.
