Chapter 7: The Seven Weapons of Orc Car

The next day, we got into Orc Car and drove to the coast.

Orc Car’s transformation had to be done manually, so we needed to get out of the car and did the work manually.

I longed for a function where the car could transform with a single push of button, but the mechanisms that were required to realize that covered a lot of grounds. And so, Orc Car’s transformation to aquatic mode was done by hand.

Kururu rubbed her eyes.

「You can sleep inside the car.」

The aquatic mode that Orc Car originally had was intended for something short term like crossing lake inland, so it was necessary to modify it to be able to endure long trip across the sea.

The airtightness was improved, in addition we added a bit modification to a part of the engine. Its weight was lightened even more. In exchange of the decreased defensive power, we managed to secure floating power and also increased the speed.

I intended to do the modification for those alone, but Kururu said that she would help and wouldn’t take no as an answer.

I pushed the car and it floated on water.

「Anyway, push the plain button.」

The foot mat at the rear seat slid aside.

To lighten Orc Car, its frame used reinforced acrylic plate and composite material of magical metal. The material’s transparency was extremely high. Because of that I painted the material, but I intentionally didn’t cover the floor part at the back seat with paint.

In addition I also put a little handiwork so the material could serve a function as a lens, so you could clearly see into the water.

It wasn’t something created for functionality, its use was simply for sightseeing. It was a pointless function just to make women happy. A masterpiece where the sense of this thoughtful mister orc was shining bright!

「This is fun.」

Although I designed the Orc Car to be somewhat aerodynamic, it was still a car. Its design prioritized carrying capacity and riding comfort, so it couldn’t have form like airplane. The frame might break from this speed.

The frame creaked unpleasantly.

「Is this alright? The frame is screaming-」(Kururu)

Kururu shrunk into herself.

「But wait a second. For example, what if the legendary giant squid, Kraken suddenly appear on the surface and attack us? We won’t be able to run away without this you know?」

「No, there is. Just what do you know about the sea Tita? In the sea, there are a lot of monsters that even I can’t win against.」

Tita fell silent.
