This is Tsukasa.

Thank you very much for picking up the fourteenth volume, Unlimited Fafnir XIV   Rainbow Piece.

This whole volume ended up as a volume of “the night before final battle”.

At first I planned to cram the final battle too into one book, but there were a lot of things that I wanted to write and had to write, so I felt that just one book wouldn’t be enough at all.

However due to the leeway that I got, I was able to write various scenes that I wouldn’t be able to write if I only used one volume.

I’ll be pleased if you readers can enjoy the night before final battle that Yuu and others held in their own way.

And then naturally because this volume is about the “previous night”, the “final battle” will be waiting at the next volume.

This will be the climax of this story. The volume will be the end of the battle that has continued for long.

I’m also thinking that it will be nice if I can write sequel, or extra story, or a collection of short stories after that, so perhaps calling the next volume as “last volume” might not be really accurate, but I believe that there is no doubt that volume will become a great juncture.

I’ll be happy if everyone can accompany this series until the end.

Actually there are a lot of other things that I want to write about, but it might become spoiler if I touch on the story’s content, so it’s difficult.

And so I’ll write one thing that is unrelated with the main story.

As the series continued for long, people sometimes told me “It’s amazing that you can think up a long story like this”, but in my case, there is a reason for that.

When I got an idea of a story that I want to write, first I would write it no matter what as simple plot (summary and character setting). But that doesn’t mean that all those ideas will end up as project, and of course I also have no time to write everything, so the majority of those plots get buried as shapeless idea.

However when I created a new story or thinking about how to continue my current series, those buried ideas can change into resources.

Naturally this Unlimited Fafnir also got fragments of those buried plots fused into it.

By fusing development, setting, and characters that originally can be written in other story, the tale naturally become thicker and element of surprise that I didn’t think up at first will also appear.

Well, this can also simply be called that what I can think up “now” isn’t enough that I have to use my “past” saving though……(Sweat).

In other words it’s important to accumulate! Something like that. Perhaps.

This doesn’t only apply to light novel, if there is something that you want to create or continue, all of you should also treasure your past. I believe that one day it will surely help you down the line.

And──to conclude that feel good story, we shall enter the thanking section now.
