The Scene in the beginning was the american terror Bombing of Japan, most likely Tokyo that got bombed with hundreds of thousands of fire Bombs. The little Girl then got suck into a Fire Tornado, but i think the Person who we saw the Hand, maybe summon her before she got burned allive. Like Veldora said later in the EPisode. I Think i read in the LN it was described that this guy was a Robber and was running with the Knife around the Street to flee from a Place where he stole some things, he then stabbed Satou " accidently " and was running away after this.
