D&D Stat Blocks!
Added 2021-01-24 17:30:33 +0000 UTCIt's no secret that both Gene and Deg started as Dungeons and Dragons characters, but I decided to explain their 'origin stories' a bit more in-depth for those interested in either their first iterations, or how they fit into the D&D world.
Caspian Lovett, going under the alias 'Gene,' is a prince who fled from his kingdom with the goal to return once he was strong enough to overthrow his magic-hating, tyrannical father. He spent time wandering the countryside, looking to make friends and allies to help him with his 'noble' cause while also trying his best (but ultimately failing) to avoid the law.
He's the same ornery, stupidly confident bloke that you see in PARA, just aged-up and with a very heavy vendetta against his own family.
Douglas 'Deg' Redd is a nervous, nomadic Half-Orc in a country that stigmatized his kind as evil by default. Though he himself couldn't hurt a fly, the harsh ridicule sent him to live in the mountains, where he met a strange group of people who readily took him in. The kind strangers ended up being a full-blown cult, who then tried to use Deg as sacrifice to their god. When the ritual failed and the cult fled, Deg was left with strange, profane powers that he didn't understand how to wield.
He also has the same timid, compassionate personality as he does in PARA, and Deg's metal prosthetic has carried over from D&D into the modern day!
