Kirito's characterization through his memories. Getting an actual look into his psyche rather than glimpses like we have in the past was so needed. What are your thoughts on this one?

Hence, Vassago joined a Korean criminal syndicate, which provided him a counterfeit ID and trained him to become an assassin. By the age of twenty, Vassago had completed nine jobs for the syndicate. The tenth job assigned to him involved infiltrating Sword Art Online, a virtual reality that had trapped nearly ten thousand players in a death game just days prior. Vassago's objective was to kill a specific player from inside the game, as the target was too heavily guarded to kill in the real world and there was no guarantee that he would be killed by the death game he had become trapped in. As such, Vassago was ordered to become trapped in the death game and arrange the target's death in-game without directly attacking the player himself to avoid leaving evidence that it had been a planned assassination, being offered an astronomical sum of money in exchange for completing this obligatory task. Although nearly all unused NerveGears had been confiscated by the police by then, the syndicate managed to obtain one for Vassago, along with a copy of the game. Upon diving into the death game, Vassago chose to name his avatar PoH, an acronym of Prince of Hell, based on the name his mother had given him. Although PoH was obligated to kill a specific player by his syndicate, his contact with the Japanese players in the game reminded him of his father, making him realise that he loathed all East Asians due to his experience with his father. Hence, PoH began harbouring a desire to kill as many players in the game as he could, rather than just his intended target. He thus founded «Laughing Coffin», the largest player killer guild in the death game that was responsible for a great many player deaths. He also planned to attack Kirito and Asuna, but the Game cleared before his Plans came into Action.

Vassago's father was Japanese and had paid Vassago's mother for sexual services during his stay in the United States of America. The affair resulted in an unexpected pregnancy and thus Vassago's mother desired to perform an abortion. However, since his older son from his actual wife was born with a congenital kidney defect, Vassago's mother was forced to give birth, as his father hoped that the child could serve as a kidney donor. As she despised the child she was forced to give birth to, Vassago's mother desired to name his son after the devil.However, since the US birth certificate agency did not allow her to use obviously disparaging names, she chose to name him Vassago after a minor demon from Ars Goetia known as the «Prince of Hell». After Vassago's birth, his father only occasionally checked on his illegitimate son's health and only provided the bare minimum of child-rearing funding. At the age of fifteen, Vassago learnt about his father's plans to use him as a donor; however, since he did not have the choice to refuse his father's demands, Vassago agreed to donate his kidney under a single condition: the chance to move to Japan to start his life anew, as he would lose what little support he received from his father once he donated his kidney, while his prospects in America were non-existent. However, as Japan's legal procedures for international adoptions were too complicated and Vassago would not be able to receive a status of resident even if he were adopted, the boy had no choice but to turn to the criminal underworld.

2020-08-17 15:00:32 +0000 UTCYeah in this Episode, Kiritos Happy go Lucky Face that he created for the past 3, almost 4 Years since he was trapped in SAO crumpled away and showed how much he really suffered underneath it all. So much in Fact that he almost commited Suicide and destroyed his Fluctlight entirely, which would have meant his Death. Also, i found again some interesting Details that they didnt cover in the Anime about PoH ( Vassago ). Some of those Details were already given in Volume 8 of the Light Novels, which was shortly before the Alicization Arc started. First off, dont worry if you dont remember it, but in Season 1 Episode 8, when Asuna was running away from Kuradeel, during the Duel between Kirito and Kuradeel, you saw PoH watching the Duel. Normaly a Orange Player with quite some Crimes on him couldnt enter Safe Town Areas, the NPC Guards would attack him. But as we saw and the Author answered in an QßA, After the crusade from the Frontline Fighters against the Base of Laughin Coffin, PoH restored his cursor to green and remained active within the Inner Area until the Game cleared. Which means the Raid happend some Time before that, and Kuradeel was later the 3rd Person Kirito killed in SAO. Also some Trivia about his Weapon: The «Mate Chopper» (, Meito Choppā, lit. “friend cutting kitchen knife”) is a rare and powerful dagger-class weapon and PoH's primary weapon in Sword Art Online. The Mate Chopper is a monster-drop[1], likely dropped by a boss-level monster[2], weapon that not even the best weapons created by the highest level craftsmen could match, thus it was called a «demon sword».[1] Due to its power, it said to be able to pass through full plate armour with ease. 1.)Volume 8, A Murder Case in the Area, Part 11 2.) This is based on the fact that monster-dropped weapons only have unique names if they are exceedingly rare and because the sword is able to rival even the best player-crafted weapons, even though player-crafted weapons are usually better than equivalent monster drops.
