I love the way this show spoonfeeds you just enough answers and then gives you more questions! To clarify a few things you seemed confused about (but which were mentioned and are not spoilers) * Julie Mao is the daughter of Jules-Pierre Mao, CEO of Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile, a trillion-dollar corporation (like Amazon but much bigger, ironic really). So that makes her the richest bachelorette in all of humanity. Cute Space-Tinder profile, too! * The stealth ship was never identified. The one they've been picked up by is the MCRN Donnager, which is the biggest class of ship in the Martian Navy - a definite "fuck around and find out" type of ship. * Ceres (a Belt asteroid turned into habitat where a few million live) is where Detective Miller's story is happening right now, and things are definitely about to get bad if there's a severe water shortage thanks to the Cant being destroyed. Blame will be sought. Mushrooms will be eaten. :P * To make Ceres livable they spin it up, creating gravity "towards" the surface, like a merry-go-round. Since it's spin-based gravity and not the normal kind, drinks pour weirdly, and the closer to the center you are, the weaker/wonkier it is, and consequently, the poorer the inhabitants are. * Chrisjen Avasarala is the Deputy Undersecretary of the U.N. Sadavir Errinwright is her boss, and he reports to the Secretary-General, i.e. President of Earth. Hence, she is "two heartbeats away". * Those red-lit mag boots are the clear indicator to the audience when there is gravity present in the scene or not; you will hear them clicking whenever people are "on the float" - i.e. not under the effects of gravity or thrust.
