I have a feeling this is about to get even more dramatic with the arrival of Shepard Rei... This show also gets darker and darker. Human experimentation?! How convenient that the 86 aren't considered humans... So we now know Shin's dad was a scientist who worked with Anette's father, the one who created the para-raid using the ability of Shin's family to telepathically communicate. This also makes sense that this ability was amplified to hear the dead due to his near death experience. I wonder if it has something to do with his lineage and if other races have special abilities such as that.

2021-06-06 03:18:08 +0000 UTCWe did tell you in episode 1 already that this would not be flowers and sunshine story. I am very certain the Republic will be destroyed by the Legion. Lena and some of the 86 will survive to east where we will next season learn of the new nation that will have to fight the Legion as it will just keep growing.

2021-06-05 22:10:25 +0000 UTCWell combine what Rei said, that their parents are from the Empire (that created the Legion) to what Raiden said about 86 discriminating other 86 by the color of their skin and you can infer that the reason Rei and Shin got discriminated was because of their Imperial blood and blaming them for creation of the Legion when they were born and raised in the Republic and not the Empire. A lot of people are fucked up in this series.

Thats why Shin has imperial blood and was probably discriminated by other 86s as well just like other characters with rare racial features. They also stated in this episode that their mother along with Shin and his brother had a stange power that allowed them to communicate without talking, which then lead to the creation of the Para-Raids.
