2021-07-17 18:59:13 +0000 UTCI will say, Mr. Emperor, "scorched earth tactics" are certainly a reasonable & usable means of interfering with the opposing enemy, it is a tried & true method utilized to great military effect in our world, albeit the fact it's... unbelievably cruel... Napoleon's advance into Russia was halted by said tactics, if I recall correctly, so it does have merit but I cannot help but feel absolutely terrible for the towns/villages burnt down, the poisoned wells, the lost lives...

2021-07-17 18:56:12 +0000 UTCGATE does a wonderful job at capturing the overwhelming technological differences of the two connected worlds, as well as the sheer terror/confusion that can be brought about by fighting someone leagues above yourself in many aspects... Could you imagine how we'd feel if suddenly a civilization far more advanced suddenly invaded us? Shit's scary, that's for sure, and there'd certainly be tons of confusion among the information shared too!

2021-07-17 18:50:05 +0000 UTCMight I say, the aesthetic design of this series is sincerely appreciated, considering it makes the whole scenario more believable/enjoyable when the residents of this world are wearing outfits appropriate for "medieval times" and the empire's court, as well as the emperor himself, were wearing Roman/Greek-esque attire, and it contrasts so well with the modern day military clothing of the JSDF! It is, indeed, an "alien invasion" that goes both ways, one side started it so the other side retaliates, and the clothing/technological differences certainly drive that fact home well enough!

2021-07-17 18:29:18 +0000 UTC...I might just cry, dude, because the fact I get to see you watch, start to finish, ANOTHER series from 2015 that got interrupted and put on hold for so long is... surreal, considering that was the year I started to consume a lot of your pre-existing reactions, from DanMachi to Seraph to Prison School, even Parasyte! Feels good to see another chapter from back then be given time once more! :D Plus, y'know, I also have a special connection to this series since it's one of a few series I did manage to review start to finish weekly, and I love the characters/world so damn much!
