I will gush about Rory Mercury for 20+ weeks straight (the amount of time it'll take to finish this series weekly) just because she's one of my all-time, absolute favorite female characters in anime... I mean, bloody hell, her design, VA, OST theme song, and her personality are just straight up attractive & enjoyable as fuck! GATE does not fuck around with the waifus, introducing someone as brutal & playful as Rory.

2021-08-05 20:47:03 +0000 UTCMight I just say, much like Tsukimichi, GATE excels at the little details about visiting another world... such as how, unless it was an earned skill, it wouldn't be easy to learn a new language to communicate with locals overnight. Itami was shown to use a "basic phrases" handbook and could only speak in short sentences, he didn't even know their word for "dragon" so he called it a "large bird" instead to get the meaning across... stuff like this makes a show more believable for me, personally.

The apostles are like avatars/demigods/popes for their respective gods. It's like a pantheon, so the villagers worshipping her would be the same if a representative of Hades or Ares were to appear before them.
