You could be right about that. It just came off as a financial reason in my eyes with the way she explained it. I'm not trying to say she is a gold digger btw. Lol. She seems cool.

2021-09-01 20:50:30 +0000 UTCI thought Risa didn’t marry him for the money. I thought she always had feelings for him, he was her senpai. Their families are close and they grew up together. He was probably the only guy she cares and naturally wanting to be with. Plus, she admired his stability comparing to her freelance by chance in come. “you can provide, let me rely on you.” was a good excuse for a kind person like Itami to get married to. But that’s really not her reason. Thus when he took it literally and said insurance money will cover her anyways. She realized her feelings for him never came across. Thus the divorce, to prove money was never the point and accepting he probably won’t develop feelings for her in the future.

2021-09-01 18:33:00 +0000 UTCYeah, it gets more political as the series goes on. As for Risa and Itami, I actually don't see them getting back together. While she did initially marry him for the money, I think she actually did wind up falling in love with him. When the time came for his deployment, he wasn't taking things between them, or his own life seriously. The fact that he didn't consider her feelings when she asked what would happened if he died, really hurt Risa. I blame both of them for the divorce because of that. I think it's a good idea for them to remain friends for the time being. At least until things settle down.
