I wish I could like this more. Lol. I totally forgot their people were up on the moon, so when they said domesticated, they meant turned into big, fat slugs. I went off on a whole theory. Lol

2019-11-08 00:27:27 +0000 UTCCouple refreshers: in certain instances, the Lunarians have used pieces of other gems to form traps and weapons when they come down. I think this happened in one of the early episodes (hence why the Amethysts recognize this one as "another one of those rare types"). Ventricosus and Aculeatus belong to the species called the "Admirabilis", who are enslaved on the moon, where they're fed something that makes them grow giant and dumb. Once they're exposed to salt water they shrink and their higher functions and reasoning comes back.
