This month I'm trying something different with the live chats and hosting them via Zoom. Many of you asked for Zoom live chats and I finally was able to put some effort into making it happen. So I'm looking forward to seeing how well it's received compared to Instagram.

You do not need a Zoom account to join in on these! Just click the link on the Patreon post I make when it's time for the live (be careful of time zones!) and you're in!

To join the chats this month:

Make sure your Zoom is UP TO DATE! Have the latest version installed on your computer or phone to join.

With Zoom my team and I found that there are definitely some rules that I'm going to have to ask everyone to follow. If these rules are not adhered to and we find that the Zoom lives become too chaotic then I'll have to go back to doing solely Instagram lives. I really don't want this to happen and I don't think it will (you all are amazing!) but just in case, here are some things to know before going into the Zoom lives...

1) Make sure you understand how to use Zoom on whatever device you have. I will not be able to answer technical questions during a Zoom live and cannot help you access the live. Lives will be recorded and posted on Patreon later (depending on my internet situation) so if you miss it you should be able to watch it later (but wont be able to see the chat in the replay).

2) During a Zoom live, unless I specifically ask someone, all videos need to be turned off and mics muted. I will try to make sure this is automatically the case for everyone upon entering, but if you see that your video or mic is on please turn it off so there's no audio issues. To talk with me and ask questions, the chat will be open just like it is on Instagram lives.

3) Regarding chats, we found when testing this platform that chat works really well when on a desktop/laptop computer and we recommend using a computer if possible. However, on phones it appears that you can either be viewing the chat window OR be viewing the live, not both at the same time. Switching back and forth is easy though.
