Thank you very much Jen. I will definitely look into transitioning them to Birdtricks pallets. That was my plan anyways. I just bought a head with the supreme and I was waiting for them to finally be used up. I think I’m gonna just do it now anyways. Now with the treats. That’s something I’ve been thinking about quite a bit. I know Dave says 10 treats a day but I’m trying to Change or modify his behaviors. He continues to be very afraid of hands and he bites randomly with no warning. I’ll be giving him a treat and holding down to bite me instead. I try real hard to do training and he loves to train but I think the nuts are adding up. When he comes to me I’ll give them a treat to increase his social interaction with humans. I am really overwhelmed at this point. I even wondered if they would have a better home with somebody else.. how do I control the crazy whore moans and stop RV from humping on my little green cheek, helping him to adjust to hands and not randomly bite all the same time. I’ve made a lot of progress with his fear of hands. He will often step up now but it’s A risk. I offer my finger and he either jumps up or bites me. Thank you so much for responding I’m finding judgment and rudeness on the Birdtricks question & answer that is on Facebook. I told Jamie that I would absolutely love a small burn Boot Camp. Either go to her house or have her come here and we just every day for a week work on everything. I feel certain that they would getA fantastic response but I know it’s a big time commitment for them. Help! I don’t want to give up. I do want what’s best for Mike🔨 A fantastic response but I know it’s a big time commitment for them. Help! I don’t want to give up. I do want what’s best for My babies

Hi Connie, here are a few tips - 1- check out this video on determining the right amount to feed your bird: https://youtu.be/BPZbnihqIoE. 2 - Also, please reconsider feeding zupreem. Even the natural contains sugar, oil, corn and synthetic vitamins. BirdTricks pellets are cold-pressed, organic, and contain no artificial flavors or dyes, added sugars, corn, soy, or peanuts. https://birdtricksstore.com/collections/health-and-diet/products/all-natural-parrot-pellets 3 - take another look at how many treats you are feeding. I hope these help :)

My new certified avian vet that I switch to told me my IRN was overweight on his first check up. She didn’t tell me how much she was overweight how to reduce his weight or anything. He’s actually gotten worse😢 I am 100% on your feeding system. And he eats natural supreme. On his own he flies up and down the hallway quite a bit. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Should I reduce the quantities? I definitely need some guidance and I certainly didn’t get it from my avian vet. I’d love love love this information. Thank you so very very much for doing it.

I can ask Patty if she wants to do anything on pro-biotics, I think I have asked her before and I wanna say she's said there isn't that much to them. But I will ask again to refresh and maybe we can do a tasty tuesday on all the questions that don't have super in depth answers.

Great video! I worry about my pionus having trouble with weight later in life. Pionus are prone to obesity, like Amazons. Right now his weight is so steady I could calibrate a scale by it, but he's only 10 months old. He loves to eat and will eat just about anything. He's super active, but that may change. Pionus have a perch potato reputation. I worry that his hearty appetite will catch up to him once the adolescent energy and metabolism fades. I keep a close eye on him. If he ever creeps up over his steady 235gr I will know there is trouble.

Wow that’s crazy. I thought it was weird since he had the same antibiotics before. I was told to give the probiotic in his food and he wasn’t eating at the time. But he loves the stuff straight from the tube. Thank you he’s doing much better and needs to lose 3g 🤣 to be back to his normal weight.

Hi! Almost board certified animal nurse, here. 😁I can tell you from a veterinary standpoint, that nine times out of ten, an antibiotic will cause an upset stomach if not given with food. The majority of my experience is dog, cat, horse and bearded dragon, but this kind of thing also happens in humans. Antibiotics kill all good and bad bacteria in the GI tract, so in order to make the animal feel better, we boost up the gut flora and that usually does the trick. I hope your birdie is feeling better! I have never regretted having BeneBac plus on stand by for these situations. It’s a paste that works for reptiles and birds and my beardie seemed to like the taste of it. 😊😅

Idea for tasty Tuesday- probiotics? Or is that more vet-ish? My sun was on antibiotics and he stopped eating and I started panicking. Turns out he had a stomach ache and the vet gave probiotics. I thought it was weird because he had been on the same antibiotics twice before without an issue.
