Widget The Caique | Creating CALM

This video talks about a concept I often do but have not really shown in the past and wanted to. This video is a pre-release video that will go on YouTube later.

This is great! I am continually amazed as I discover all the things you have created to help birds and us caregivers. These Calm Videos… absolutely fabulous! I didn’t know you made them till I watched this last night. Then, now I just found out you have an app which tracks Birdie Weight and Goals from a comment on Patreon. I of course downloaded it. And , last…That video you and Dave made about recovering a lost bird? That is the most informative, instructive and most likely life saving thing I have ever seen on this topic. Had I known or had this all at my fingertips in 2015 when I lost my little Jardinie, Mally I most likely could have saved her on day two. It still makes my heart pound just talking about it. I was so distraught and mostly alone trying to get her. That video would have definitely got me snapped out of my emotional state and thinking clearly . Thank you for creating all this stuff. I seriously mean that.

So I have tried this twice with my cockatiel and it works wonderfully. The second time though, I took an extra 10 minutes to slowly lower the volume. When relaxing things end abruptly, it tends to agitate me. So I experimented with him and it worked even better. The last 3 minutes I start shifting around a little more. Then when the music is at it's lowest and for the last minute, I slowly stand up, stretch (which he joins me doing lol) then I turn the music off. Such a smoother transition.

That was so calming that I fell asleep for 10 mins and didn't know until I woke up. Lol.

Carolyn Rivera

No, in fact she slips on smooth surfaces so I don’t feel they’re too long.

Lol! I’ve since been sent a bookmark 🔖🤣

I use nail filing perches in their cages or have them done at their annual well bird exam

BirdTricks

Do you think Widget's nails are too long Jamie?

Susan Hopkins

I found that lovely & calming UNTIL you folded the corner of the page down in your book to bookmark your place. 😱 😂

Carrie Stewart

I love the calm but seeing Widget pick at her nails brought up a question. How to trim your birds nails without traumatizing them or breaking trust

Sarah Goninan

It's from my Fabulous app

BirdTricks

Love this! IDK why but I always feel calm watching parrots preen their feathers <3 Also could you share the music?

Heather Fromme

I love this! I am going to try it today since I am able to work from home and see if it helps with my flocks screams through out the day.
