My new project bird - a flighted budgie!

Meet Sugar!

Sugar is my latest project bird. A flighted budgie whose owners could not find time for him/her anymore. So I took on Sugar to show how to work successfully with flighted, untame budgies since my current Budgie Course only covered clipped budgies. For the first time ever, I've combined my project bird content as course content and am allowing the Bondi tier and above to have access to it.  For the complete budgie course, visit this link.

I bought the budgie bundle months ago. How do I get the updates for flighted birds? Thank you.

Thank you!

Thanks for your interest, Evelyn! I would like to do a project bird that would be available to patrons in the future. It's really random how I end up taking them on though, I always think I will be able to plan for one and that never happens lol. Sugar is spoken for already but if he ever can't stay for whatever reason I will reach out to you!

Capri is just loving on sugar so hard! It's adorable to listen to her delight when sugar offers spins instead of recall, so so cute. I love the raw experience of everything you go through together with the bird/s. Nice, easy to follow training that just makes so much sense.

I am loving this. Seeing that even the tiny and very flighty (no pun intended) birds succeed through this process is awesome! I have two budgies, who were pretty young when I got them. So seeing process with “not a baby” is great. Can’t wait to see more!

eee! what a cutie! i hope Sugar gets along with Blueberry!

lol, too early to get attached! sounds like sugar has a family to go back to already xD

If Sugar were to be available, I would be interested. Let me know what would be needed to pursue that if it is an option.

It has been pretty random every time to be honest. Some project birds already have owners they're going back to, while Bean ended up with a patron who reached out to me and just happened to be the perfect fit (but ultimately it was up to the rescue to make that decision for him). Usually you need to apply through whichever rescue I am working through but sometimes I've taken on project birds with an owner already selected which is why I take that particular bird at all (vs not knowing if the bird will ever be adopted or when). So it just reallllly depends on the individual situation. With Lefty and Touche I linked to how to adopt them in every video and people showed up at the rescue to do so.

How do we get considered to be a forever home for a project bird? If that is in a video, I’ve missed it. Thank you!
