2021-07-12 15:25:18 +0000 UTCYes it is. Baby birds are naturally fledging and flying all over and think it’s fun so it’s easier to just start developing the habit of catching them on your hand and calling them to your hand. Adult birds… aren’t doing that lol

One question… in the section about the order of training Dave says he starts w/flight training and then step up. I’m pretty sure in some of your other videos I’ve watched you say that a good step up is necessary before flight training. Is that bc those individuals were working with adult birds? 2021-07-09 11:43:42 +0000 UTCMy "baby" isn't really a baby anymore at 1yo. The course is still very helpful, especially the fledging info. He was clipped by the breeder and his flight feathers have started to molt back in. He has 2-3 on each side. He has been flapping in place and testing his wings by flapping while running. He's way behind on fledging but I'm encouraged to see the the signs. We are working on his recall and encouraging the flapping. If I can just teach him to stop using his wings like arms to pull himself out of positions where he should be flapping to recover. I worry he'll break his precious new feathers. 🥰🪶
