Really enjoyed watching this, can you please explain the wing twitch as I’ve been wondering what this is, my Amazon tends to do this to me?

Claire Harris

Interested in Blue and body language too! This was hilarious

Jamie, I LOVE your shirt!!! Where did you get it???

Our toy boxes are always changing so I would email in and just special request that toy - it's definitely a chunky type toy so it would most likely be in a our chunky 5 toy box or any of our 3-toy boxes. But those toys rotate in and out so as long as you email in and special request it into your box, you should be good to go!

Thanks I learned a lot from that vid. Any thing with blue is a good thing!

Deborah Lowe

Hilarious ending. 😂

What toy box would that be in? Chunky, mixed or foraging? Or does it not matter? lol

I chuckled in that video. Nice to see the candidness. Interested in seeing blue and body language.

That is our Tegan toy! Named after our freeflight student Tegan who was obsessed with a beady type toy I couldn't stand seeing in the cage lol so we made a better version for her to obsess over instead! Feel free to special request it in your next toy box!

Ahhh the Tiki Monster makes an appearance!! I love this toy too... such a great reminder that you can also give tiny toys to big birds. In fact, this inspires me to use the new Tiki Monster we just received to train Cosmo & Nova to break off pieces just like you showed with Jinx. I absolutely love this body language series and learn so much in every episode. And as always you guys are hilarious to watch—so educational and entertaining at the same time!! One of the things this left me wondering is how do you (Dave) deal with Jinx during shows if he's being a jerk with you and would rather be with Jamie in that moment? I can only imagine it's an extra challenge to implement permission-based training in the show environment? Now that we know so much more about your bird training techniques, the way you produce them and have them fly to you in shows fascinates me all the more. Maybe a future Patreon/youtube topic? I'd love to learn more (without giving away the magic secrets, of course).

I have a question. What is the name of the long toy with all the beads in the beginning on the tree, it looks like an octopus almost. My boy Rocko LOVES wooden beads, they’re like bubble wrap for him lol. PS I laughed all they way through the video!

AMAZING INTRO- I might have missed a few videos but that Media/Graphics are awesomesauce! Our conure also did not know how to play with toys and we taught him using that exact method and he/she is very sweet/mild-mannered. I to would be interested in seeing a Blue Body language video. My conure is pretty easy to read body language but I have noticed how quick in comparison my baby's movements are to that of Jinx or some larger birds. I wonder if the speed of their movements is why people might not catch their body language both on their training areas or on their hands/body? (still learning so obviously it could be numerous things- just a thought) Also big thank you for all the videos and for taking the time to educate and help. I truly enjoy watching these with my husband so we may learn and grow together as a flock 😍

That was so much fun to watch, I laughed almost all the way through it. I really like your vocabulary of using the word "heightened". That perfectly describes what I've seen so often and I really never quite knew how to label it. I think you were exactly right though and they can go either way when they're "rhere". Thank you for sharing it with us. I think it is so important to realize that parrots are really still wild animals and if you are not watching carefully, they will nail you not because they're mean but because of the situation. It is someone comforting to know that even people with your expertise don't always have cuddly wonderful moments one after another. Sometimes it's just not the right time to work with them.

Jinx was doing the same offering a wave my pionus does when people are holding training treats but are distracted by something else. The wave was the first trick my bird learned. He starts waving like crazy when he's excited about training and impatient for it to start. It's like how dogs offer their paw to shake hands repeatedly when they want something. Jinx was doing the excited wave too. Dave really got Jinx going by moving his hand when he was talking and holding treats in the other hand. Poor Jinx was waving and waving, no treat. Then he tried singing, still no treats. He's like, "What's a bird gotta do to get a treat around here?" 🤣 🥰

Body language with Blue would be awesome! They move so fast sometimes, it would be nice to know what to look out for. 💙
