Fennel - Hands off training

With Fennel we decide to do some hands off training techniques with her.

Fennel - Hands off training

It helps gain trust without the pressure of having to work hands on which creates more fear.

I might have missed something but what's the benefit of hands off training?

Lara

I've done it for some things, like crate training, where its such a huge fear that it's worth the huge reward of breakfast in it but since she was harder to convert, I don't want to risk undoing that with using it. But you probably could use it in some cases. I try to avoid that though.

I guess I could offer my experience with my male ekkiecwhen I first got him but I know these videos are delayed and I'm sure you have progressed a ways. Just FYI, my first six months or so with Mylo my ekkie was pretty rough. I was his 4th home and he was only 4 years old at the time and learned to bite to communicate since no one listened or understood his style of communication so once I talked with Mel we got so much better and every interaction became fun for him instead of me pushing his boundaries unintentionally. He now is my friendliest bird, loves to be in the mix of everything I'm doing and is a great, sweet lovable guy.

This is the bird you had mentioned really loves the seasonal feeding chop, right? If so, I was wondering if you have ever used that has the reward for training?
