Is Fennel ready to go home?

Fennel's owner comes to see her after 2.5 months with me.

Is Fennel ready to go home?

Comments

Oh my goodness, you are the professional and what you say goes. I would totally see you as the boss and what you say goes. Your people pleaser came out even though your professional side let that lead. I’m so glad it went well. Do you have the timer for consistence and set for the birds to wind. down and relax? and is the amount of time from the first timer to the 2nd timer set up to give the birds time to get situated and wind down to go to sleep?

I think Fennel will do better with her daughter, just by watching the few training sessions you posted. I can tell Chelsea has hesitations from when she was working with Fennel originally and as hard as it is, she needs to let those feelings go and act as if Fennel is a brand new bird. Just my 2 cents. I have a cockatiel that I rescued that refuses to step up and is terrified of hands and textiles. I've had him 6 months and he still hasn't accepted stepping up or training of any kind. He's barely even interested in toys. I don't know how long he was out in the wild before I rescued him but he's an odd duck. Sleeps during the day and is awake at night. Poor guy doesn't get much sleep b/c of my other tiels. As I'm watching your videos Jamie, I've learned that I have to take it as his pace, not mine. My husband will try really hard to get him to step up but each time he pushes him, Asher takes a step back from us. I can't quite get it through my husband's head that you can't push them like that. Asher will be affectionate by rubbing his head on my face, absolutely no hands can come near him though, so I know he's coming around. Anyway, my point to all of this is finding patience with them and try to let go what happened before she was in Jamie's care. Thank you for another great video! This one really helps explain the steps you are taking with Fennel!
