Tasty Tuesday | About Patty!

This is probably the longest Tasty Tuesday episode ever, but I didn't want to divide any of this information into two videos. So hopefully you guys enjoy the detail.
I love this and I am glad that we do have this community because one thing that I am still seeing in the budgie community is that people still believe that they have to have an all seed diet. Your website has helped me show that what I though to be true for years and I was not the only one. Thank you for helping me and many other find a place we feel safe

I've been working in animal nutrition for 17years. My job is to support the scientists designing the diets. I can tell you that they do not know about bird diets. Chicken, yes. Parrots, songbirds, and the like it's all a guess.

This was great! I am so grateful for all this info you created. It has helped me and my birds immensely. Sapphire, my 19 year old severely plucked Blue & Gold, is slowly refeathering thanks to your Seasonal Feeding System and the very easy to understand foraging information. I am confident she will fly again in the future. Patty, thank you so much for doing this research and to Jamie for having that incredible ability to put it all together. Everyone at BirdTicks has truly saved my birdies by making all this available. Once I have the info; I am tenacious about making it work. Thank you 100 X’s.

Patty is amazing! To have developed the skills in research and analysis that she has in isolation! I don't even have the words.
Thank you for your enquiring mind, dedication and love!

Patty, you're awesome! I can't speak for anyone else, but I, for one, am so grateful for your 1980's research cos it's helping my parrots in 2020's live the best way possible!

I think this was so great! I would rather talk to someone that has experience vs text book knowledge! I could care less that Patty isn't "certified!". My vet isn't avian certified but he's a seasoned vet and has taken care of all kinds of animals, even my snakes, and I trust him! I'd love to see a video of you ladies talking about how you developed the cookbook and the stories behind it!!!

Love the video! Thanks so much for always giving us the very best information. And you definitely don’t have to have a degree to be an expert.
I would love to see the behind the scenes from making the cookbook. Sounds like so much fun. Thanks so much

LOVED this video! This kind of dedication and devotion is PRECISELY why I have followed BirdTricks from day one of owning my first parrot 3 1/2 years ago! And most of all, how they uphold the "all inclusive RESPECT" rule! At the end of the day we just need to do the very best by the parrot family members we have, and Patty, Jaimie, Dave and everyone on their staff all help to do that every single day! I, for one, am beyond grateful for them all! I learn, grow, and do better with my flock continually, and will always do so! Glad to have them all as part of my growing experience! And getting to know them is just icing on the cake! Please keep this stuff coming! =)

This was awesome, keep on telling the stories! Stories are my favorite Education method! as long as you tell your stories, people will learn, gain deeper interest and understanding, and be encouraged to learn more and continue the research after the story has been told out. I am definitely encouraged to expand my research after watching this intently!

This was fascinating! Thank you so much to Patty for being brave enough to satisfy our curiosity. I've always wondered about her "origin story" :) I'd love to hear an update on Linus - how long did it take him to settle in? How does he react when he sees Dave & Jamie? Would you ever share the videos of him sliding across the table?
The underground "learning in the trenches" is familiar to me - it's a little like that in ferret circles. Best diet for them is pretty much 100% raw meat with an occasional raw egg for hairballs and fish oil for treats, but there's huge pushback and infighting about it. And I so agree with Patty - when you research a subject, find reliable sources, and constantly factcheck yourself and your sources. Research the opposite, even, and see what shows up.
And part of me would love to see young Jamie in goth mode! :D Thank you Jamie & Patty for your great work. I'll never have a parrot but I love learning about them with you.

This was terrific! I enjoyed seeing aspects of Patty’s and Jamie’s friendship and getting to know more about both of you. I would love to hear more about behind the scenes I’d the SFS.

This video is why I love birdtricks! Jamie, I was drawn to your YouTube channel back when you aired the Morgan series. This was during my research of how to care for a parrot.
Patty you are too modest. I love the dedication you put in. And I think a behind the scenes to the SFS is a great idea!

That was fun to watch. It's be interested in the fails & bloopers. Like the questions you asks, what there is value in the mistakes you make.
