Blizzard the Umbrella Cockatoo! Days 1-3

I’ve watched all videos I’ve ever had access to from Birdtricks many times and can’t get enough. But seeing ones with cockatoos is soooo amazing, as there are so many of us who are cockatoo lovers. They ARE tricky to read and easily switch up attitudes, which is why seeing you work with one is so incredibly helpful. Thank you for taking one on so we can learn cockatoos from you!

So awesome to see you face your fears of interacting with a cockatoo. I don’t think I could help myself I’d get in there and talk to him and accidentally Hatin him right away. I would be like David have to pay them to. Mixture of what you offered on my thought was interesting to. I wouldn’t have thought to give him the chicken. I do like that you’re being cautious and waiting in twice a day. You always make sure the safety of the bird comes first. Keep going Jamie you’re doing good.

I adopted an umbrella cockatoo this past Tuesday, and am currently going through diet conversion with him (today was full day 3), so this series is incredibly timely for my situation! My cockatoo is taking to the seasonal feeding system (with plenty of sweet potato), and the pellets are the bigger challenge. I've been drawing a lot from your other diet conversion videos. I'm offering him lots of different foods to see what he likes, and funny enough, he likes steelhead trout. And this guy prefers for me to watch him eat, or even more so, spoon feed him, which I only do to see if he likes the food. Little manipulator. 😎
