BT Kids Video Ideas

Hey patrons! Capri wants to know what type of videos you'd like to see on her channel.

We need 1,000 hours of watch time before it's monetized and we can release project bird content over there and get Capri her very own project bird to work with and so until then, what type of videos are you interested in seeing us make over there? Let us know in the comments!

I would love to see a video of Capri fully setting up a new bird cage to show other kids everything you will need to prepare before your new bird comes home :)

Does Capri handle any larger species? If so, which ones and under what circumstances? If not, why not and up to what size of her household parrots is she allowed to move around at home or on trips? Also a video on which parrots are ones that she opted to have and selected herself to take care of? I know you may have done one on your channel or maybe I missed one on hers, but would be cool to see all the ones that are hers for her ownership maybe

I am new and don’t usually say much but here’s my 2 cents/ suggestions 😂 Also I did read previous comments before I writing this but forgive me if someone already suggested these topics 🙂 topics such as: What it means to have a parrot and and what makes them great companions? What species would you suggest for young beginners? Also, like everyone has said…a day in life of keeping a pet bird…the time commitment etc. The flock mentality and things that are age appropriate and realistic expectations from the entire family. I guess the same topics you teach us only made for a child to understand.

I would love to see age-appropriate education for kids about the way birds have (and are still) seen as ‘cheap and easy’ pets, and why this is so cruel for the birds. Big ask, I know, but if kids can understand more about that, then change will happen more easily. 😊

This is less about the Birdtricks Kids YouTube channel, but more of a project idea for the Birdtricks Kids - how about you make a handbook for the child parrot handler ! With things like coloring pages, informative pages about parrots (what is a parrots? What a day in a parrot’s life will be) , fun inspiring story about one bird you met, educational information about bird care, parrot owner chore list, a food recipe that is doable for kids, DIY toy making, a simple trick training instruction. Wowie if I was experienced enough I would’ve loved creating a book like that. What a dream. I feel like you can nail it.

Maybe even in a format of a how to video, so kids see how to do this “chores”. I don’t know we necessarily want kids to bath train a bird by themselves, but I think that bathing is neglected for many bird owners - heck, the itching skin and the dry as a toilet paper feathers! I can also imagine Capri creating ways to make this chores “fun”, I can imagine Capri and Jamie creating a file of a Chore list for the young parrot keeper, a list that looks inviting and that they can put s sticker or something on chore when they’re done with it for the day.

Yes! Definitely!

My kids are grown now but I know some younger kids who would love to see Capri teaching simple tricks like the wave or the spin.

Melanie Jones

Yes!

Educational videos will be great, if you’ll do in-home or master classes with kids instead of adults, where you and Capri get to teach kids about their very own bird and what they can do with them so they’re happy and building a good respectful bond along with maybe teaching some cool simple tricks it will be very very interesting, and I think it will also be incredibly helpful. The way children view birds in captivity, and how to properly take care of them so the birds are equally as happy as the kid who feels responsible for them, is very important and I fill like it can spark a spacial interest on children who loves animals. I was a child with a dog training aspiration, I wish to see more content to aspire kids with bird training aspirations.

My son is older than Capri (14 yesterday!), and he is still a little fearful of my parrots. He likes to give them treats, and he talks with them whenever he passes the cages, but he will not hold them on his hand and feels a little unsure when it comes to doing even the simplest training. This might include things like throw back content from when Capri was younger, being guided on something simple by Dave or Jamie, or maybe just a video showing something really simple like “loading the clicker” with a nice family bird (click, treat, click, treat) with comments on how many times or how many treats you can be giving with each session/each day. I think kids would also like to see a video with a treat tasting — like finding the favorite treat lesson. You could start by having Jamie or Dave set out four or five of Capri’s favorite “treats” (or even Capri setting out mom’s favorite treats!) and then using that treat to ask the person to do something. “Hey, Mom?” “Yes, Capri?” Can you come in the kitchen and help me with this video?” Silence. “I have a (boba? piece of chocolate?) for you!” Enter Jamie!

Also, please post a reminder here on Patreon when she posts a video. We are all happy to support Capri. I'd love to see Capri with her own project bird!

I think since Capri's channel is under the BT name, people expect to see bird training videos or her interacting with birds. I think you guys probably already have a lot of content like that you can re-release on that channel. Collaboration with other content providers who have parrots is also great.

Holden Kendrick

I think younger children might benefit from seeing content on how it ACTUALLY is to have birds... cleaning cages, feeding, care, tricks etc.

Janene Gscuba

Types if videos I'd love to watch: -Day in the life of the family -Olivia content -Capri hanging out/training Bondi -How to sprout beans, legumes, grains

Brickelle Gregory

Omg I would LOVE to see Capri work with project birds! That would be amazing!
