I have watched the hormones course but it's been a while and the time I hadn't really experienced any actual hormones so I'll definitely rewatch it now. Also I'll try to work on training him to not fear the target stick with the pause. If those do not work I'll definitely sign up for a consult. Thanks for your help.

Yep, it can be hard having these guys in our homes!

Have you watched our Hormones course?? That should give you some good tips and you can also hop on a consult! There may be something you are missing. Since he isn't super tame I wonder about really focusing on training to misdirect as well.

My male cockatiel is extremely hormonal around any flowing fabric, towels, napkins, clothing, and specifically white-colored fabric. He knows where we keep the dish towel in the kitchen and will fly all the way across the house to it. He is also obsessed with my mom and always shows hormonal behavior with her. These are all behaviors we try to avoid but have a difficult time doing so.

I have a male parakeet that took quite an interest in one of the tiny toys in his cage. I took all the toys out and replaced them with new toys in different locations. Just fyi I have only gotten as far as having him jump to me for millet. He seems terrified of the target stick. Anyway once I rearranged the new toys he moved his interest to his mineral block yeah gross right. I can't seem to quick him out of his hormones. He's on sfs, bt pellets, bb seed mix. He gets the right amount of sleep and has plenty of interaction in and out of his cage. Cage is large enough for him to fly from side to side.
