Right after this post Roman started on the weight gaining train. I abruptly stopped syringe feeding and started reintroducing SFS with other things, ie scrambled eggs, etc. he immediately lost 27 grams. I’ll be in touch with Kim in the next few weeks. Making my next batch of SFS next week. I do know how to keep his weight up - I’m just not sure if I am doing it in a good way. I am keeping regular/“real” food in front of him at all times. But a consult will be helpful for us. After we bring in the New Year.

2022-12-31 20:28:37 +0000 UTCThe fact that Ava is nothing like Jinx 😆 in all seriousness though, Ava is incredibly tolerant and unbothered. However, even I know how overbearing Berry can be so I try to lock her up ahead of time if I think about it.

2022-12-29 02:18:44 +0000 UTCMy bird got super sick and our vet had us syringe feed him plus let him have literally anything he would eat (he lost 90 grams in a week). He is back into a safe range and we have decreased syringe feeding to mornings only. But now he wants zero seasonal feeding system and no pellets! I have been mixing his fresh vegetables with something he’ll eat because his weight is still not optimal. Plus he still gets almond butter for the method to administer antibiotics. Is there a time frame to shoot for or go at his pace. He could still stand to gain at least 20 grams. I think the syringe feeding has made him hormonal. Would that make sense?
