Love! In the middle, though, where you were talking about diet — do you have an LG appliance there? Because my dryer is going, and I thought I heard its “I’m done!” song, but maybe it was yours! It is also quite possible that I am hearing things… clothes washer, dryer, dishwasher, they are always running around my house!

Well, although you put it down to your birds being used to it, I guess Ava wasn’t used to it, and she did amazingly. Interesting.
My situation is a bit different, because there’s usually another person home, but they don’t interact much with the birds, whether I’m here or not. I look after a family members place, and I’ve finally managed to get some small cages set up there so hopefully I can give my birds more consistent care.

I don't, they just know when the caretaker walks in that we have left and they probably know before that based on our patterns of getting ready but our birds have been living this way since they were little so it's not a shock to them. Bandit and Rocko used to punish me the most for being gone, but once Rocko got older he stopped punishing me for as long. Usually once I was home for a day I could interact with them after that but if I ever tried rushing into the aviary to say how much I missed them I'd get bit by both.

Do you do anything specific to prepare your birds for you going away? I seem to have birds that have the opposite reaction. Even my friendliest bird seems to get more moody when I’ve left her for a couple days.

I will definitely share showering with her, but I think based on fear level you might gain more from watching Rusty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4QBMqrASt8&t=1012s

Omgoodness! She got so fluffy for you!
You mentioned that she is good with the shower...can you do a video on how you train your birds to like the shower? My birds just seem to be terrified...even though I've tried to train it with treats.
