It finally happened... meet our newest addition...

I couldn't hold them off any longer...

Meet Icee, a 4 year old female blue eyed Lucy x Mojave ball python... who was in need of a home because her previous home was down sizing.

I kept trying to convince Dave and Capri not to buy a baby snake, but to adopt an older one that was full grown and in need of a home and when Icee came up we knew she would be the perfect fit (even if she came 1/2 a year earlier than planned).

She's super sweet and that's what really mattered to me (haha). The only thing we really know about her past is that she has always been kind and that she got out once and got herself caught on a screw which opened her entire belly up and all her insides fell out. She had to be glued back together and made an amazing recovery from it so she has a pretty gnarly scar on her belly to remember it by.

We are really excited to learn more about how to give her the best care ever and she has already been a ton of fun. So any enrichment ideas are welcome and links are highly encouraged!

We are already planning on building her an enrichment wall and a friend of mine said she can also use the tree stands for enrichment too so that's been happening as well. I also saw some stuff online about putting various light stuff like plastic balls and packing peanuts in bins for them to rummage around in. Snake enrichment looks really fun...

We probably won’t ever test that to know the answer.

I had a friend send me a video and it sparked a lot of questions for sure!

Congratulations!! That’s so exciting! Have you guys looked into touch training snakes? I recently saw where some people were teaching their ball pythons and a few monitor lizards to do it and it blew my mind!

CONGRATS to you guys and Icee!! I absolutely LUV snakes and have found ball pythons are so incredible to own! Mine was female also, and INCREDIBLY sweet as can be! I know you will love her and enjoy her very much, and you have all of the capability to have and keep everyone safe and happy! No one better to do it! CONGRATS again, and I look forward to seeing videos to come of her!

Oh no. Better you than me. I do not like snakes. No thank you. Aren’t you worried about your birds?

So cool! Congrats! Would love to see the scar. Also, bird safe snake products? Like Teflon free and stuff whenever you get set up
