Have you considered offering free consultations and training materials to parrot rescues? Maybe a train the trainer course that could be put together with largely existing materials?

2023-06-05 08:31:38 +0000 UTCMy local bird club is a 501(c)3 and has been around for decades -- so there are a lot of "old school" bird people running it. We have always accepted surrendered birds and adopted them out to other people, but when I was asked to run it and then found a partner to help me, we found so many holes in the process. Fortunately, the club keeps a separate bank account for our program, which is funded by adoption fees and donations and the money is used for new cages when necessary, food for foster birds, and veterinary visits when required. It would be so helpful to find a community of folks doing the same kind of work, to share best practices, when is a bird "too dangerous", organizing tips, fundraising ideas, and concerns that come up working with the "people" end of things (like, if you did a home visit and there appeared to be some animal hoarding going on, do you report it?). I love that you are sharing your process of creating "Project Parrots" -- thank you!
