ZIP AND ZOOM ARE HERE!!!

I'm so excited to share that Zip and Zoom made it to me safe and sound! I'm also excited to show you the aviary progress we are making at our home regarding the 14' aviary whose roof came crashing down over last winter. We've been at a loss of how to go about fixing it as it bent a lot of the metal walls and we ended up tossing out the previous roof. The only quote I got for a replacement roof was a carport that came in at $9k for a galvanized metal one. I just could not do that so while doing an in home consultation in Florida, our clients offered a trade for their matching 14' aviary with a catch all.

I couldn't pass up the offer so I had it shipped up here to us and our plans are to make a 30x18 area with the panels. We will still need a roof, and the latest idea is a lean-to roof so the snow goes off towards our trees and not the neighbor's fence or our shed.

So Dave and I have begun work on it. If you would like to help with this project, please consider a donation via Project Parrots - or if it's in expertise please come on out and help!

Our next plan of action is to figure out how to level the area (at least just the border and reset the pavers) and then after that, set up all the panels before winter.

In other news - Zip and Zoom's vet appointment came in at a whopping $2,785. The good news is, they are free of any diseases or illnesses and because of Kim's amazing work with them - they're at healthy weights and on our recommended diet! We are so excited because this means flight training can begin.

A proper day 1 video and update will be coming... I am so excited to share their journey with you and can't emphasize enough how important the proper diet is. I haven't received a project bird on the right diet before and this was a total game changer for me (so um, Kim, you're hired for all future project birds lol!) update to come - just a lot going on around here at the moment and wanted to get something out to you all. Thanks for your support! xo

Interesting thought! I will share it with my team.

I have a suggestion on your master classes and how we can watch a learn from them. What about putting some together as a training course like you did for the 1 day miracle's

I need to post an update because we finally figured it out! lol.

I love these ideas. Consulting in person vs consulting online can feel really different so I think it takes a certain personality to want to do that but I definitely would love to see us evolve this.

Well if you're ever in the area... ;)

Leveling isn’t too hard. My fiancé had to do it all himself when we put our pool in last year. He was able to do a 20x20 ft section in a few hours. We got a $100 ground tiller off Amazon that worked great and then a few other items like a stamping tool (think that’s what it’s called). Not sure but have y’all considered doing an open carport to go over the outdoor aviary? Would have a good roof but still lots of airflow on the sides? Maybe you can do a trial with your free editors and as they become trusted help you can pay a small fee to per video.

Maybe Kim and some of the other super knowledgeable people on your staff could do masterclasses? You could have beginner and advanced classes. Kim is so great at diet conversion and helping people get ramped up on your program. Then have advanced classes held by Jamie and Dave where students were vetted as already being on the right diet, sleep, etc. You have so much video content on diet conversion, sleep, cage setup, etc, but I think some people would benefit from in person lessons on the basics. Probably could handle more attendees on basic classes, or even make them all people and no birds or bring demo birds. Just an idea. 😀

So awesome to hear Jamie and Dave about the Aviary!! I would have no problem to come and give my helping hands, if I was not in New Jersey lol. I am debating on building one in my backyard, since in NJ our winters are pretty mild anymore. Glad to hear that due to Kim’s work the birdie is nice and healthy! Keep up the good work, they look soooooo happy now !
