Laura, how do you like your Pionus? I was thinking of getting a Maximillian, Scaly Headed. Did you have a good experience with the seller?

2023-08-07 21:08:30 +0000 UTCFor Kathy Le... Hi Kathy, We received our Blue Headed Pionus from JC about 5 weeks ago. He was shipped from TX to us in AK and wasn't interested in food for the first 2 days. It was really stressful so I know what you are going through. I kept offering SF and BT pellets (avail all the time) and he wouldn't touch it. Like your baby, ours didn't have a clue what seeds or nuts were. I tried offering hand feeding mix and he just yelled at me. lol. I finally sprinkled some of the Rowdy pellets (sent by JC) on the SF and in with the BT pellets and he began picking those out. Eventually, he began eating some of the SF and BT pellets. After I saw his weight climb, I began cutting back the Rowdy's pellets. Our baby is now completely off Rowdy's pellets and is a whopping 308 g! He was 246 g out of the shipping crate and under 260 g the first 2 weeks we had him. He's had his vet check, including x-ray and is perfect. I'm sure your baby will be too! Hope this helps! Laura
