Update: We are making a MEDIUM Trackpack!

Alright guys, we are working on it and these products are a slow process but we have the prototype finally and have been messing with it and deciding what we want to modify from here.

The size is going to be ideal for medium sized parrots such as African grey parrots, goffin cockatoos, galahs,  amazon, eclectus, you get the gist... but even some smaller species are going to be very comfortable traveling in this for even longer durations like Senegal parrots, Meyers, pionus, etc... so we are very excited. This pack has to be more durable and chew-proof that our pack meant for the tiny birds because of the beak size going into it. So we are trying to make sure we really prepare the pack for the damage the birds can do!

Let me know the comments below what features you hope to see (and not see!) so we can make the very best pack possible!

Update: We are making a MEDIUM Trackpack!

I have just received the smaller trackpack for my parakeets and I love it , because it is so sturdy that made it easier for me to desensitise the birds. I have a suggestion for this medium trackpack , to use fabric made of nylon instead of polyester. Because nylon is stronger than polyester. I don't know whether it is necessary or not, because your track pack already comes with metal mesh to protect the zipper.

The 2 piece front panel on the original can be tricky to get in place with sneaky birds trying to poke their heads out. Also a couple of times the mesh screen on the door didn't attach properly and was hanging down on poor Oscar's head for a while before I noticed it. I considered trying to add a light to the track pack so that's a good idea. I worry about the clips on the food cup. So far Oscar (Hahn's macaw) hasn't tried to remove them but I could see a larger bird being able to open them enough to get pinched. A water bottle holder would be great. The Celltei carrier has a large gromet to accommodate the water bottle spout and a way to attach the supporting spring thing on the outside. They use a no drip bottle that actually works if you make sure the spout is adjusted properly.

I am just so excited for this to come out! I tweaked a stroller that I take Eclectus Yoshi in and he does great with it, but the idea of a backpack makes me excited to think about exploring easy trails with him when the weather becomes warmer again next year!

Woo Hoo! We did quite a few long drives with our Pionus in the current TrackPack and here are the modifications we did to make it work. We drilled new perch holes approximately 3 inches below the original perch holes to accommodate his size. This only works because of his shorter tail (like an Amazon or African Gray). Just saw the adjustable perch height on the prototype. LOVE THIS! We also found none of the D rings for toys worked because the toys swung with the car motion and bonked his head. We threaded a few BT tiny toys through one of the side grommets meant for a water dish and secured them on the outside with a quick link. This worked great as they were at head level for him and we could hear him crunching away at them on our long drives without them swaying. 😎 The tiny water cups are cute but my Pionus never used them and I'm not sure our Amazon can even get her beak in them. i replaced the tiny cup with a larger stainless steel version. We love the modified pack, and more importantly, our Pionus seems quite content in there on our road-trips! We also use it to move him around our house as needed (we have dogs so need to carry our birds securely when taking them out of the bird room, like to the shower, etc). Thank you for designing a larger option! I think this will be great for our Amazon!

Loving the perch, light, double bowl and color ideas! Can the perch be a tad bit bigger? I think it’s to small for medium birds (but I maybe be wrong) Can we make the inserts a-little easier to put on if that makes any sense. With the smaller carrier, Olivia often times sneaks out of it while I’m trying to put the insert in place. Also, a removable grate at the bottom would be PERFECT. That’s the only thing I wish other companies did. Arlo likes to bend down and destroy the paper.
