2021-10-18 23:22:32 +0000 UTCI know for a fact some people found Eugene’s death to be too predictable so they were annoyed with that, or surprised he was killed that quickly, but the funny thing (or not really) is that we’re literally first introduced to Eugene with Shin killing him, then we get flashbacks of them first meeting in the library in the LN. The death still pretty much hurts though (for Shin) considering Eugene was designed to evoke the traits of two influential people in Shin's life. He was a diligent Alba (like Lena) and a reliable, bespectacled older brother (like Rei). The death flags were pretty much set in stone, just that the anime put it into chronological order compared to the LN where it jumps back and forth.
