Tasty Tuesday (Seasonal Feeding Recipe)

I've attached a shot of the recipe page from my main cookbook so you guys can have the exact recipe details. Keep in mind, our seasonal recipes are meant to change with the seasons which is why I incorporated so many fun finds.

As you can see from the freezer footage - my last batch was super GREEN! This one was super pink and purple (mostly from the beets!)

In simple terms:

STEP ONE: Shop

STEP TWO: Chop

STEP THREE: Combine

STEP FOUR: Serve, freeze or both!

Thank you! Works fine today so probably just an Internet glitch -- I have my browser set to Save (no option to Open) but was only getting partial file downloads. And, BTW, I really appreciate having the single page of Winter to Spring as a JPG file as that displays so nicely on the viewer I have in the kitchen. I will see if I can create JPGs from the other two seasons. Thank you for all the BT team does for the bird world!

When you click on it, it should ask if you want to save the file or open it. I just checked it and it let me save/open it when I clicked on it so let me know if that option comes up for you. You could also try the right click save as too.

Clicking on the link (5A1qvVSSQpmN4oNhAa5ClA.jpg) does not work for me. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Yes, I do soak over night before cooking the beans. I just follow the instructions on the package, and throw away the seasoning inside. And yes, brown rice is great! You can even toss it in the food processor and really make it the binding ingredient if that works for your bird, then just slowly lessen the amount each time, or use 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 pureed spinach as the next binding texture.

Jamie Do you soak your beans overnight before cooking? Would brown rice work in place of pasta? My parrotlet with his tiny beak can pick thru anything. He loves brown rice so I'm wondering if I can chop it small enough for him not to pick thru it? My Ringneck will try anything so I'm excited to give this a try!! Thank you!❤

Hey guys! Some of you expressed extra interest in the FORAGING opportunities I brought up in my Tasty Tuesday video. For those of you that have my cookbook (available digitally or in print here; https://birdtricksstore.com/collections/health-and-diet) I was actually pulling from an idea I already used in it. Here are some recipes in my book that involve folding foods into big 'ol greens! (This is reference to the NEWEST addition of our cookbook BTW) Page 46 "Bean Surprise Green Wraps" Page 49 "Catapillars" (instead of tortilla, use greens) There's also many recipes in there that maybe use something else as the vessel, like a pepper or cucumber, that you can use a collard green for. Get creative! Thanks for watching!
