2020-12-26 15:11:31 +0000 UTCI started making birdie bread for the wild birds who winter over. I use pumpkin and fruit pureed. Instead of the pellets I double the rolled oats. Also for added calcium I blend in the egg shells. Chopped walnuts, almonds, and crunchy peanut butter with some sweet peppers. When the feeders get low there's 2 woodpeckers who come to my kitchen window and start tapping away to get me to bring out some more. The chickadees surround me as I load up some more bread for them. I've had a couple impatient and brave little chickadees land on my head or hands! They LOVE BIRDIE BREAD!!!
