You can make this recipe as CRUNCHY or as soft as you want. Something to keep in mind, the thinner you slice the faster it cooks!
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet or baking sheet with tin foil and spray with a light coating of pam cooking oil spray.
Cut your veggies into the shapes you desire and cook for 10-15 mins, keeping a close eye for browning sides. Pull at desired crunchiness. Let cool before serving, to at least room temperature.
This recipe calls for the use of:
1 turnip, 1 carrot, 1 sweet potato, 1 white potato, 1 zucchini
A fun twist to this recipe:
The idea was to create herb + spice "taste testers" out of these via my video. With fries you can dip them or coat the ends in almond butter, yogurt or any of the sauces in my cookbook, and roll in your choice of herb or spice for your bird to see which ones it prefers. You can also sprinkle them on top before or after baking.
For the softer chips and fries you can use toothpicks to put multiple ones together and leave as a foraging food for your bird in the bars of the cage.
For some herb/spice suggestions that are bird-safe, watch the video!
