My massive FAIL DAY with Touché

So yeah, not super proud of how massively I failed all day but... thought it was at least (hopefully) relatable?

I know this is a year old, but they've done some videos on how to train birds about windows and mirrors so they know they can't go through them.

PsyFi40

this video describes perfectly how my attempt at training my two budgies had started xD One Step forward, 2 steps back, start again. lol

MisterTene

I noticed the IRN is flighted and you have windows which are not fully covered. How do you keep the birds from flying into windows?

touche had me laughing running to get the treat

That was so far from a fail day Jamie. I also find it difficult to train when there's so many people or other pets around. That's why I often try to wake up early (before my mom gets up with our dog that Cheeky attacks) so that there are as few distractions as possible. I'm not a parent though, I just live with my parents and teenage sister. It must be a thousand times harder with little kids running around too. Please don't be hard on yourself. As a fan I love seeing you struggle in similar ways to me, it often seems like you and Dave always do everything right with training. I still think your sessions were good, don't beat yourself up over variables you can't control. :)

I've been told both owners have Instagram they keep up on but I don't usually hear from people all that often on updates. I think Ronie's probably does though.

Do you know how lefty and touché are doing now?

Thank you so much for this comment.

Those green-bird pitterpatters on the kitchen island killed me! Love it!! 🤣🤣🤣 This was the furthest thing from a fail! You did everything right and great! And in the end, I hope you know that you really did give these little guys a fighting chance. You guys have always given your own personal flock everything they ever needed as well. I hate that this has been a season of loss for you. We all mourn with you. It's turning around now. The education and sharing of vital information that you give to us for free is so powerful and so amazing. I'm just so thankful for Birdtricks.

Those are two of the cutest kids. Great video. Thank you.

This was extremely helpful...

I am thinking of starting that with my gcc also! Great idea!!

Yes! I so wish his feathers were grown in already!

Capri and Charlie are having a great ol time but yes two kiddos that size are a lot to handle! Funny to see Touché want to touch train so hard when Lefty shows up! Backseat driver trainer thought— what if you train him on a tabletop and hover your nonstick hand in a place so that when he decides he wants to touch the end of the stick he is placing himself in the hand zone

Meredith Lynn

I was just thinking - something you could train that would be super helpful to whoever adopts them, would be getting them comfortable with having a harness put on. Most people don't free fly their parrots, so harness training.. Which I'm attempting now with my GCC.. would be really useful to his new family.

I totally agree that ringnecks are not really confident birds but yes curious! Now that mine can fly and I FINALLY got him to fly to me it has helped a ton!! I think flighted birds are just more confident don't you think?

this was a really good and informative video, but now I'm craving bubble tea 😂
