BTT | Flight Training Series (Off Limit Locations)

2019-08-21 22:14:56 +0000 UTCThat grommet situation ... I have the monthly subscription to the small bird foraging toys, and had received the August box of toys. I was going to do a little box opening video for Instagram, but as I was walking with my GCC to the box she started chewing on my wedding ring, and within a split second, she'd popped out a diamond. I have to admit, I freaked out a little. It wasn't in her mouth, and thankfully I found it, but I'm challenged to find a way to keep her from chewing on my wedding ring (it doesn't go on/off easily). As for targeting off someplace I don't want her to be, I've had great success with targeting her off shoulders. We've still got a little ways to go on it, but major progress has been made!

When my ringnecks flight feathers finally grew out he would constantly fly up to the blinds. It took me so long to get him to fly to me but as soon as he finally trusted me enough to fly to me I had him fly from the blinds. We actually had to buy new blinds he was so bad. Now he isn't that interested in going up there at all! He is such a beautiful flyer I wish I had a bigger area for him to fly!

2019-08-20 22:00:21 +0000 UTCIf anyone is wondering if this method really works, I can attest that it does! It took a little while with Tango as he was clipped and learning to navigate took longer, but tress are an issue no more! He will still fly to them every once in a while if he cannot make it to us, but we can immediately recall him out making it a non-issue. We also used this technique with our cupboards (they love those high places!) and now he hardly ever flies to them. It's awesome!!
