Definitely something where when you look at the blood results from your bird's annual exam, you can make alterations to depending on how out of balance your feeding has been in the past. I have a tendency to overdo it on greens sometimes which can cause my birds potassium levels to rise so it's something I have to constantly be aware of to stick to the amounts in the recipes! It can be easy to mess up when you're doubling or tripling the normal recipe based on having so many birds! 2019-10-08 23:20:29 +0000 UTCOur GCC loves crunchy things like celery, mini bell peppers, and the center stems of lettuce. She’s not a picky eater at all (food is fun!), but she tends to eat her chop better when we include a little crunch. It’s easy for us to do because we eat a lot of fresh veggies and fruit, so it’s always in the house. Also, because she doesn’t eat very much chop in a given day, generally 15 G or less, I use 4x6 vacuum freezer storage bags. They’re the perfect size for 3-4 days of chop. I can’t recommend vacuum sealers enough. I use mine for everything that I prefer to freeze rather than can, and they’re great for dry goods that can go stale through air exposure, like pellets.
