In Home Consult Series (Part 3)

Sven is a male 2 year old blue and gold macaw who was trained by someone else for outdoor freeflight - the methods used were those that involved discluding the rest of the family members and teaching Sven to ONLY land on the husband "AJ". The family was told Sven would hate them and bite them, and if he tried to land on them to "swat him away". Because of this training, Sven has become a one person bird that Michelle is afraid to handle.

They came to a masterclass in Sydney, Australia and felt like they had so much to learn that they requested an in home consultation a few days later! These were our results in one day!

So sorry for my rant. I’m happy Sven family will soon have a bird who loves them all and is loved by them all. 💜

Wow I just read this whole back story of handsome Sven why on earth would someone set up an amazing bird who was young enough to truly be excited to learn and be loved. To train him to know if he doesn’t go to the correct person he would be hurt and in the process instill fear of this beautiful bird and his new family. It makes my heart just hurt and my anger at the levels humans stoop to, to prove they are the greater species and know what they are doing. Sorry but if you are training a bird to expect not to be loved and hurt (swatted away) by anyone but one person. I am so grateful they realized by taking the group class that a home consult and extra care proving to Sven that not any of you including his one person and a tiny human had no intention of hurting him if he was to fly to or close to them. Or directly to them. It blows my mind the lack of humility or integrity some humans have because they are human beings. My opinion of human being is the littlest ones are the most willing to learn and grow without expectation except for the same as our feathered and furred friends to be loved respected. If you build a foundation on ego and fear in any animal humans included that’s what you will get. Thankfully he has a family who is willing to get themselves out of a box and teach him that the box he was taught to live and understand isn’t what true life is. Thank you Svens family does loving him enough to break the walls of the box the trainer taught him to live in. I hope soon he’s happy and able to fly free and safely knowing that anyone his humans introduce him to and teach them his language that his world just opens up to all the love that it appears through these videos that he already has and is willing to learn to trust again. That’s like the old wait until your father gets home threat it makes the dad feared when the situation (of course depending on the extent of the reason) should be dealt with in the moment and the reunion at the end of the day exciting for everyone as a family. So glad you went out and Svens new new parents are willing to swallow the cost and their own egos for the betterment of Svens new life. (Someone who set up a baby bird I know he’s two but he’s still a baby and to teach him fear instead of trust isn’t a trainer it’s a bird destroyer and could have or could lead to poor Sven having to many homes and end in a rescue since hurt and fear was put on cue!)

I learned a lot watching this series! It’s good to see the mistakes they made because I learned I need to not treat when they fly to me but intentionally land on an object next to me. I also learned I need to make sure I call my bird every time before comes over instead of just letting her fly back and forth without a que.

I wasn't sure how everyone would feel about this series so I am glad to know it's being enjoyed! Their initial masterclass video comes out on YouTube in November so it's quite the transformation. See you soon!

This series has been my favorite! I love been a passive passenger on their journey! Watching and listening to Dave, the bird, the owners body language, the mishaps, and all the learning and understanding that comes with! Love love LOVE! And I can’t wait for the Master Class next week!!!!
