I love that you guys share things that don't go as planned, and what you learn from those things.

(I think I've told Jamie this story. If not...πŸ˜¬πŸ’•πŸ˜‚) When we first started working with Jamie and Dave, both our birds were on awful diets from their previous places. Seeds, dried fruits, pizza crusts like...super bad. And our first few consultations seemed to only revolve around diet conversion. My husband and I were both super skeptical and didn't want to throw out the MASSIVE bag of colored pellets and seeds we had bought, so my husband proposed we go "half in" - we would feed this new diet with veggies and healthy pellets but also feed the old stuff because otherwise we thought our birds would be mad and we would waste a ton of $$ We got nowhere the first week, and it was apparent in our consult, and so I told my husband like, lets just try their way. They think diet will solve it all, so let's switch 100% and show them that diet isn't the culprit here, it's (*list a whole bunch of dumb excuses*). Welp....it fixed things. In about 2 weeks the screaming had decreased, the motivation had gone up, and while they weren't 100% into raw veggies they were eating the birdie bread we were making them which had a ton of veggies and pellets in it. The energy levels were better, the excess weight was slowly coming off which seemed to improve the movement of our one bird (we found out later she had arthritis so this excess weight loss was incredibly helpful!). Like...night and day. It took a few months to transition entirely, but now both of them eat raw veggies and pellets everyday! Needless to say, we never went back to our old food and have been massive proponents of proper nutrition for parrots ever since. So if you are a skeptic like we were - give it 110% for 2 weeks. Do everything you possibly can to convert your bird (I have a video of the bread I used). It's worth it!!
