What do you want to see more of this year?

This is my New Years Resolution poll! I'd love to hear from all of you!

Keep in mind that "doing tricks" is a method of bond building with a bird. It's not about making the bird "entertain you" or anything, it's about teaching a bird that it can learn and that interacting with you is fun and engaging. That's often why we refer to trick training as bond building games because that's what it's really accomplishing.

More about training a baby parakeet? I’ve found surprisingly little out there and have just adopted a 5month old alexandrine who’d been adopted by a family with a baby (!) and am having difficulty understanding him. I don’t want a parrot that can show off and does tricks-I want a parrot to be a companion, to spend time with me and trust me-I just don’t know how to do it with a baby. (I managed to figure the last one, an 8yo rescue ringneck, but given his history and anxieties he was a different kettle of bird!)

Helen Kay

I would love to see some more project birds if you have time to fit them into your busy schedule! That said, I love everything you do - thanks for sharing your life with us!

H Cornejo

Yess! I plan on buying the hard copy!

Birdtricks cookbook is wonderful

Lisa Fahlstrom

Oh I thought I showed all the aviary flooring, or do you mean indoors?? Right now inside I am using butcher paper and it's a lot of trash! So I'm not super stoked on it but it's not horrible. Can't wait for spring weather so I can wheel those aviaries outdoors! I am loving my outdoor concrete ones for sure.

I love your content and only think of seeing more of it. I agree with Jacqueline Gedye, since I have a Goffins Cockatoo I would love to see more info on them since they are somewhat different than Macaws. More of the indoor flight training would be awesome. And perhaps more information on getting an old Cockatoo to switch from an all seed diet to a healthy one. My Fred does not like finely chopped veggies and he's very picky about which veggies he'll eat. He is very cage territorial and he can be nippie and bite's too.

Kathy Surber

Love what you already do, would like to see you tackle an old cockatoo with a few bad habits, how to overcome them. Being cage territorial, parrot cues for biting, only taking sunflower seeds as a reward, indoor flight training for exercise. It if not, really happy with your content, has enriched my old parrots life hugely, thank you.

I’d love to see more nutrition info

More husbandry please...similar to the comet blood feather type video. How to train birds to be ok being toweled for nail trims. How to train birds to accept syringes prior to having to potentially administer meds. in the future. Also would love an update on the aviary flooring. I'll be installing an aviary this spring and am curious what you are using. Is pouring a concrete slab the safest option?

Lindy Arbuckle

I would love to see an educational series about BIrds of Prey! Maybe a collaboration with an expert on the subject similar to your wonderful vet series! 😀 With the approach of really knowing how to identify different ones by not only markings but flight patterns and such. Not only do I find them fascinating in general but I think it’s super important for Free Flight to know your birds enemies well.
