NEW SERIES! Parrot Companion (Ep. 1)

Dave and I have been working on this project since September when we went to Australia and have been so excited to bring it to bird owners everywhere.

Our new PARROT COMPANION SERIES is meant to be something you can leave playing for your bird while you’re away at work. Something that can mentally engage your bird while also giving a calming effect by watching other birds do NATURAL behaviors like foraging, bathing, playing and socializing. We will be adding each video the playlist so you can simply play the playlist while you're away if it will be for longer periods of time than each video runs.

Why did we not leave the sounds natural you may wonder? Because we don’t speak bird (not truly!) and so we had no idea what these wild birds were talking about and did not want captive parrots to be intrigued in mimicking wild calls or screams, or be startled when all the birds call and then fly to and from the trees. They could be saying anything and we did not want to risk startling our pet birds.

We would love your feedback on this series - which episode does your bird prefer most?

We also have some fun episodes coming up where they were filmed with our 360 degree camera so you can change the angle for your bird or let it simply rotate around the aviary on its own.

We would love to see your bird’s reaction to this series so please send us a 5-10 second clip of your bird watching to info@birdtricks.com and when we launch this series publicly on YouTube in April we will include your video in our social stories!

Really enjoyed this. Thank you!

Chopper seemed marginally interested, at 40yrs old I think he was a wild caught galah (long before we got him)just some of his reactions to outside wild galahs calling and wild foods. Unbelievably this is still legal in Australia for galahs,as they are numerous and some farmers see them as pests. I think he would have enjoyed some natural vocalisations, but he is a great galah only screeching dawn, dusk and when we leave house or come back, sometimes when he wants to wake up the dog, then they howl together,it might be bad for younger birds
