Oh, FLOCK! Comet won't let me touch him anymore...

Hi patrons!!

I am so excited to bring you my NEW VIDEO SERIES called "Oh, Flock!" where I talk about something off in my own flock that I need to address and fix, and then show me working through it.

This series will be more raw, and unedited. No fancy intros... no fancy outros. Just a very to the point... this is the problem, and this is how I am navigating it. Very little editing so that you can see my entire training session in its entirety (unless they really start to drag on then I will either cut them up for you to take in smaller bits or cut out the waiting!)

My first problem is since Comet had his whole blood feather ordeal, he no longer wants me touching his tail, or spreading his feathers or being able to give him an overall body check like I used to be able to do. I noticed this straight away and felt I wanted to nip it in the bud immediately.

So this is day one, training session one. You will notice I go over the normal >5 minutes and that's because it takes us a while to find our training groove, and because this is a combo of capturing + formal training, allowing me to go a little longer than a formal session would allow.

I cannot wait to show you how much we progressed in just one day, with 3 sessions! Stay tuned for more Oh, Flock! episodes and let me know how you are liking them (nor not, if you aren't, be honest!)

PS - I am wearing Storm merch! Find it and my other merch here!

Thanks for this. I definitely need to do this training with a couple of my babies.

Oooo, I need this. Fred (Goffin's Cockatoo) will let me examine him, but this gives me exactly what I need to do to help him be more compfy with it. Thanks so much. 😊

This would be helpful for anyone wanting their bird to tolerate touch. I’m still in the midst of taming my two cockatiels so this will be on the back burner. However, I’m going to try to train them to tolerate me touching their toes while eating millet out of my hands. (They were target trained on the second day with me!) In other news, Comet is such a cutie! Had to up my tier just to see more of your babies. πŸ₯° I just don’t know if I can keep it long-term tho.
