Day 1 with Bean (part 2)

This was definitely a one of a kind experience for day one with a new bird for me! This is video 2/2 of pre-release Bean content.

Day 1 with Bean (part 2)

Hurray!!!!

Sarah Goninan

July 2nd another Bean update comes out, but you guys have a Sunny episode coming before then. :)

BirdTricks

When are we going to see more updates on this fella?! I wish I could have a bird right now! I love African Greys even with all their neurosis and fear.

Sarah Goninan

Yes, I will make a video on this explaining :)

BirdTricks

I actually haven't cut my hair but it was in a braid and all crimped up when I took it out of it so may have looked shorter!

BirdTricks

Can you share how you did the quarantine with Bean? I'm trying to figure out the logistics of quarantining a new bird. It would be no fun for either the new or old bird to have to stay in one room. *sigh* I overthink the details...

Jennifer Perez

So cute! I love the project birds.

Cori Klosterman

This is going to be very helpful for me. My conure is very fearful too. If there is a sound unexpected (like the house creeking) he freaks out. If there is something new in the room or something he has never seen he freaks out. I'm looking forward to learning how to desensitize him for things like this.

Jeanne Okerlund

Thankfully, no! Cressi is out at my parents house during this enjoying the weather in the aviaries.

BirdTricks

Oh my goodness I love him!!

Kait Hudnall

I think he jumped onto the water bowl to get back onto you. He really loves you already! Amazing to see he loves it when you pet him. Could you use this for reinforcement in the desensitisation process somehow? Also, I love your shiny boots and summer hair cut!

Evita Westwood

Haha maybe I should’ve said come into your feathers

Sherry mathes

I think day one went pretty dang good for you Bean. Lots of stuff to adjust to and you did great. You’ve got the best of the best working for you so you’re guaranteed to succeed. Can’t wait to watch you come out of your shell to be the bird you were meant to be. Question: Will his being there make Cressi’s hormonal thing worse?

Sherry mathes

Mr. Bean is in capable hands! What a brave and lucky boy.

Sarah Wells

I love this! I just joined your Patreon group, and I'm so excited to watch along the way. I've watched all your content on YouTube and am working my way through the older stuff on Patreon (only been a member for a few weeks). Seeing your passion and benefiting from your knowledge is why I got my sun conure (after weeks of reading and watching your things and spending hours with her specifically).

And so, with the slow and steady pace that is unique to each one of us, love moves forward in a way that never threatens, never hurts us or tricks us. And we learn, finally, that love was on our side all along, that we can trust her when she shows us the way forward, that finally- we can change enough to take our first baby step. And Tempie (comment above) I didn't see the sweater thing coming either. But that's the difference between a pro and us. No matter how small, a pro can always break a step down into even smaller steps. Kudos to the Professional husband/wife trainer team of Dave & Jamie Womach! 😀

John E Rice

Miracles on day one. Wow! Didn’t see that coming. I would’ve never thought of removing the sweater. Mr. Bean is one smart cookie. Looking forward to seeing what else y’all can do with him. Will Capri be involved as well?

Tempie Elder

He is beautiful. I think he has a lot of potential. I’ve already learned two new types of bird body language just from this part 2.

Shelah Moore

Oh, poor baby. He is gorgeous though! The eyepinning is so cute on African Greys!

Lynn De Pourcq

I needed to stop this video after 4 minutes and 11 seconds to say that my Penelope does this same type of flying. She is a cockatiel that is less than 6 months old. She has broken almost everyone of her tail feathers. She came clipped from a breeder (which I'm still upset about). If you can give ANY advice I would be so appreciative.

Lisa Bearwald

LOL! Love the extra at the end! So nice to see Bean settling in. My baby Amazon, Finn, is just molting his clipped flight feathers too. He has not been comfortable with his flying skills so we are going to start working on that in the new netted enclosure I set up in the backyard! I am so glad I found you and Dave before I got Finn. It really has set us up for success and I can't believe how quickly he picks up the tricks we've learned! Thanks and keep up the good work!

Fabfemme

You can see that he’s just so scared but needing love! What a sweetheart. I’m excited for this series. Our newly adopted GCC (surprise!!! Coworker needed him gone ASAP so of course I said yes, just in time for my birthday 😉) is scared of everything- perches, stands, tables, counters, hands... everything but shoulders and his tiny cage. So watching Bean will be really helpful!

Jennifer Percopo

Great job Bean!!!

Patricia Lynn

My goffin didn't like counters, I had to use a towel.
