Oh Flock! Tusa is really...

I have to say, I considered not showing you guys how we can get frustrated sometimes with the lack of interest shown from our birds, or if they're acting out of character. But then, I thought, THIS sort of footage is EXACTLY what "Oh Flock" is about. And we are humans, so we get frustrated too!

I hope you all see the humor in how this one went down... lol.

I like to use the bells/round wood beads that I detach from toys because although they look familiar they’re still interesting enough for my bird to hold and drop

LOL! That’s funny! 😀

lol right!

Oh for sure, this was just more about the frustration level of the trainer, lol. Sometimes ya gotta walk away!

Poor Dave, I think Tusa would rather train with Jamie 🤣. But of course, Jamie trains birds to fling objects eventually.......

Tusa is so wary! I know with dog clicker training, using shaping, if you want to teach a trick like push a ball with their nose, you have to start with clicking and rewarding when they so much as look at the ball. Then you have to shape by rewarding approaching the ball, then touching the ball, then nose touching etc. I know that you know all this but I was wondering if rewarding Tusa for looking at the ball and shaping from there would work?

LOL, skip the trick, human, just fork over the treat. Trust me, it’s more efficient that way”. 😎

At lease he doesn't hiss at and scream at you like Axel. Evil Indian ringneck.

Today was a rough day for us as well! Everyone was very cranky and uncooperative. Training session was cut short :(

This was great!! Dave- he just won’t touch the ball AT ALL! Jamie- you mean THIS ball? 😂 that’s exactly what happens here, hubby gets so mad because Kauwaii will refuse to do something for him that she’ll do for me in her sleep lol! Seriously though, these kinds of videos really do help, shows us we’re not the only ones! A lot of times you guys make it look SO easy, it can be a little discouraging (though you worked hard for the progress you make!!!) So watching you guys work through real issues like this is really encouraging :)
