Bird of prey series

Hey guys! We are making a bird of prey video series in collaboration with Marshall’s radio telemetry and want to know what you guys want to know!

This is mostly in relation to what role birds of prey play in regards to the safety of parrots being outside, especially in free flight. But we are open to all avenues and want to produce what you want to know about! So leave us your questions in the comments. We will definitely be pre-releasing this series to patrons as well as sharing special behind the scenes stuff here too.

I have been watching Martin Tyner Hawking with Belle his Harris Hawk since Belle's beginning and I believe this is the start of either her 3rd season. They are so smart and he has great training techniques and I look forward to your birds of prey presentation. You probably know him, but he is the founder and rehabilatator of sick and injured Birds of Prey from the Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah. He is a great watch. I am sure I will have questions as you move forward with your video. I am so excited you guys are venturing into this - awesome!

Denise Salas

It’s great that you do that! Don’t stop doing it. It’s how you love your 🐦 birds!

John E Rice

OMG! Is that a Peregrine?!? I love those guys! They are the fastest creatures on the planet. They fly up really high then go into a ‘stoop dive’ at sometimes greater than 200 miles per hour perpendicular to the earth, and if necessary can pull out of one at over ten G’s (I saw a documentary on public television). They can also see a tennis ball 🎾 from over 3 kilometers away. Yes! Do the Peregrine!! 😀

John E Rice

Are they clicker trained? Or what type of training styles do they use? I see there is a cord from bird to glove, and some have their eyes covered.

I have a large outside aviary but have never felt comfortable leaving my ( macaws) parrots alone since I worry about red tailed hawks. I know the hawk can’t get to my birds but concerned about them stressing out so I’m always in backyard when they in aviary. Is this a needless worry(?) Lisa (in Maryland )

Yummy! I have to say, I like quail, too, though usually cooked 😂

Jennifer Percopo

It's most likely a quail. That's what we feed to our falcon. Easily obtainable through online frozen animal food retailers and high quality, high calorie food for raptors.

Awesome!! My husband and I have been falconers for 7 years and have a falcon and two Harris' Hawks. I'm looking forward to this series! I'd love to have some more information in the public eye that shows falconry in a positive light. Some people misunderstand the relationship we have with the birds, so going into some of that might be a good idea. Can't wait!!

Briana Tallitsch

Capri the Falconer! That’s a cool bird.

Linton Hutcheson

Wow!! He is incredible! I love Capri’s face, he’s almost as big as she is! What is he eating in that pic? It looks pretty gory!! Lol
