I cant help laugh at my Galah. I was trying to convert her to TOPS pellets (im in Australia and these seem to have the same ingredients as your pellets) She wouldnt touch them so i have tried a few suggestions from your videos. Today i made your birdy bread mixed with her current pellets and TOPS. While i was creating the birdie bread mix she was “helping” she just started eating the new pellets. Such a typical Galah! Wait till i put in effort to make her the bread to convert her and she is like “All good i liked them anyway” lol

Melissa Ritter

Not every meal of pellets but every now and then would be fine, just to clarify.

BirdTricks

Yes. BB is more like a snack food if you aren't using it for diet conversion. It could also take the place of a meal of pellets if you're using our blends that already contain the pellets.

BirdTricks

Probably 3-5 days or so depending on how cold your fridge is. I recommend freezing it in small portions to last longer.

BirdTricks

I have been adding bb to the chop lately to give them variety. Is that going backward?

Connie Muttart

How long does bb last once it’s baked?

Connie Muttart

You can use a muffin mix available to you, just pick the healthiest version.

BirdTricks

Is there an alternative to Fibre One Muffin Mix I can use? I live in the UK and can't find it anywhere...

RuthMayNot

Tucker still won’t eat your pellets. He went nuts for a different brand though 🤷‍♀️

Carmen Griggs

That's awesome! It's a great recipe for birds entirely resistant to the taste of our pellets.

BirdTricks

I actually use Ashlyn’s recipe from her YouTube video when she was doing a diet conversion for Tango. She incorporates chopped veggies and talked about how to slowly decrease the amount of “treats” in each batch. It has worked really well (super gradual) for my die hard seed eater. I swear he would have starved himself at first if I had taken his seeds away. But now he is willing to train and very motivated to forage once he figured out that is the new source of seeds. Also, I use your small bird seed mix - both in his chop and his birdie bread - to encourage him to eat his veggies and make sure his seeds are organic and healthy 😊🐦💕

Carmen Griggs

Yay! That’s awesome!!!!! It’s so cool seeing him dig in to everything you give him! My favorite was the crazy excited flapping at breakfast time 😂

Jennifer Percopo

Yay!!

BirdTricks

Jeee! I got so inspired from the video, that I made birdy bread today for Elvis and he is eating it! Jeee! The last one he didn't like, now I left the banana and the apple sauce out and added sweet potato sauce (baby food) his seeds 🙈, Chinoa, Chia seeds and lots of pellet powder. He is crazy for it! Thank you again Jamie!!!

Lucia Hellerhoff

It’s fun for variety so maybe once a week or so

BirdTricks

I never gave him his old seed mix everrrrr 💙

BirdTricks

Awe yay 💛💛💛

BirdTricks

I usually just have to store it in the fridge because I’m going through it quickly 💕

BirdTricks

Thank you for this! So good to hear small bird tips!!! ♥️

Lucia Hellerhoff

This was great! Would have loved to see blueberry eat but i guess she only eats on camera if she is stealing it!😂

Nancie Rogers

Once a parrot transitions to a healthy diet, how much of this would you recommend to give as a treat? (parrotlet)

Laura

Loving small bird topics!

Nyree Williams

Thank you for this! Our tiels seem to have backtracked with the pellets so I’m definitely going to try this! Same thing, they found some millet left by the girls a few times lol... and Bean!! It’s so awesome that he’s so into the birdie bread and chop! Does he still get a little of his old seed (crap treat mix) while converting to pellets, or is he eating enough chop and bread that you don’t need to supplement with it?

Jennifer Percopo

I live in Canada so I can’t order your food stuff. But I do the DIY version from the video that stars Patty! My cockatiel and parrotlet love it. 😊 My cockatiel is not a big fan of pellets so it really helped. I wish I could thank Patty directly for her DIY Birdie Bread and organic seed mix recipe. I came across them while binge-reading Birdtricks articles months ago. 🙏

Rosanna Lam

Thank you!!

Wendy Cottingham

I store mine in the freezer (in pre-cut portions) and pop it in the microwave before serving.

Rosanna Lam

Thank you for this reminder!! I am still trying to convert my Caique over to your pellets and my parrotlet is kind of like Blueberry if he happens to find a sneak treat then he thinks he can skip through eating his pellets. How do you store it? Do you freeze or just put in the fridge? Or is it ok in a baggie? I have 2 bags of your mix in the cupboard.🤦
