The Ancient Magus' Bride Episode 11 & 12 Reaction

What a pair of episodes. The animation and themes in this series are beautiful, dude. I specifically love Episode 12 where Chise gains her staff and rises like a phoenix. So damn cool and pretty. I'm looking forward to seeing where Chise goes now that she knows she found a place to belong. What did you all think of this pair of episodes? Thanks for watching!

That's what it was, thank you. Yeah, I feel like humans tried to create something unordinary, and he was the result. That's the vibe I get from the conversation you outlined above between Spriggan and Oberon. Does the bird die after the spell is over?

Couple clarifying points: Spriggan (short dude with the rock head) calls Elias a half baked creature with a shell of flesh, and that many humans and spirits were lost because of him. Oberon replies that it was the humans fault, and seeing that Elias is centuries old (with Lindel older than him, and his Master even older than that) there's no telling how long he was wandering before Lindel found him. Lindel and Elias' relationship at this point doesn't seem cold or distant, it seems like Elias gained a fair measure of independence and struck out on his own but is just going through the motions of what he's observed others do without necessarily knowing the WHY. That's why Lindel is nagging him about taking Chise as an apprentice and sort of half assing it. As for what his origin is, it's interesting that your theory is that he's a hybrid or combination, because I've always looked at his description as something that isn't whole, either a being that had part of it torn away or cursed. The bird Silky was burying was the one Renfred was using to talk to Elias with in the scene just before.
